I've heard of such statistics before. Do you know how they obtain them? My understanding is that in any sanctuary city, police are not allowed to inquire into immigration stats. How are valid statistics being produced without that information?

Ultimately, it's irrelevant. Citizens have a right to live here. Immigrants do not- they are only allowed to immigrate selectively, at our will.

That information ban isn't true. Some of these cities aren't collecting that data, and that's a concern, but there is no blanket ban on that data. As such, you can still get a decent picture of illegal immigrant crime rates through both sanctuary cities that do report, as well as any city that isn't a sanctuary city. Also, if Hispanic crime rates in a given area are lower than the average, then it stands to reason that illegal Mexican immigrants are not responsible for a disproportionately large amount of crime.

And it's totally relevant, because Trump is basing cornerstone policies on unsupported claims. The Mexicans are coming to rape you! Be scared! Let me spend tens of billions of dollars on a wall whose long-term effectiveness is questionable, and will likely be stopped or curtailed the moment I'm out of office!

Those words never left Trumps mouth.
You're really honing in on the point. The Orange Safety Cone isn't selling safety, he's pushing fear. He is only succeeding with his followers because they seem to be afraid of everything and everyone. Sad!

Those words never left Trumps mouth.

He claimed that Mexico was sending rapists and other criminal elements across the border, so yes, he said it. He also made a false assertion that illegal immigrants were largely responsible for Chicago's crime. It's an attempt to scapegoat illegal immigrants for crime in the US, to suggest that they pose a major threat when really they're just a blip on the radar.

So what? Those are true facts.

Only they're not. There may be some who cross the border, but the assertion was that these criminals make up a large part of the illegal immigrant population, which isn't true.

Also, "true facts?" As opposed to the "alternative facts" that come from Trump on a daily basis?

I'm sorry you are in denial. Rapists do come over. It's not a lie to claim that they do.

You sound like politifaked

Trump said he won "big league". We rate the claim pants on fire: Trump only won by 74 electoral votes, and we define "big league" as a win by 75 electoral votes or more.

Of course rapists come over. That's not the issue. The issue is that Trump was claiming that illegal Mexican immigrants were a major contributor to crime, when there's no evidence to support this claim (and in fact, evidence suggests that there's a lower crime rate among them than for citizens). Here's the Trump quote verbatim:

"When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people."

In other words: there are maybe kinda sorta a few good ones, but most of them are troublemakers.

Also, I'm deriving that from a Politifact article that chastises Tim Kaine for misrepresenting Trump's quote, so the site is clearly willing to criticize both sides. You just call it "Politifaked" because it doesn't usually tell you what you want to hear.

When Trump says they are sending over rapists, and you call him a liar, it absolutely does become an issue when it's proven that rapists do indeed come over.

So you think it's true that the country of Mexico is selecting and sending rapists to the U.S., for some unknown reason, right?

Because that's exactly what Trump said.

Did you actually read what I wrote? The issue is not whether any rapists come over. It's that Trump claimed that they represented a significant factor in illegal immigration, and that most illegal immigrants are criminals. These are demonstrably false; even if the proportion of rapists among Mexican immigrants was higher than for, say, Canadian or European immigrants, it wouldn't be high enough to justify a disproportionate response involving a massive border wall and rapid, large-scale deportation efforts.

Wrong.

Sorry, you can't just misinterpret what someone says and call them a liar based on your interpretation.

It's not a misinterpretation. It's pretty explicit what he was saying, and it's not my fault that you're being willfully obtuse.

You seem like an intelligent and thoughtful guy, but you're wasting your time here. Save it for those who are willing to even consider other points of view. You'd be better off resorting to over the top hyperbole and wielding it like a club.

At least tell me you did an impression of The Odd-Shaped Carrot when you said "wrong"?

Also, you have the evidence that he said these things. If you perceive his words differently please explain (from the point of view of that cesspool mind of Trump, just kidding. In your own words please) what the Buffoon meant?

You might be illiterate. It's pretty obvious that he is saying SOME of the ILLEGAL immigrants are rapists. Which makes it a subset of a subset.

The whole thing is explained very clearly here if you are still struggling with deciphering basic sentence structure:

Don't click the youtube link. It's Stefan Molyneux... jesus h christ.

You don't deserve the respect of legitimate discourse, because you are intellectually dishonest and intellectually a coward. You make claims, get shut down with facts, then retreat to return with alternate bullshit. What amounts to facts for you are literally jpgs, or whackos on youtube expressing deluded opinions.

Look at this thread. 'Google is compromised', your support and the only content of the OP ? A jpg.

You're amusing to tear down with facts, but it gets boring and inane quickly when your shtick revolves around a constant crawling out from your rock with another rotten turd, to retreat back under it again with circular reasoning.

Google is compromised! Here is my proof! It's a JPG of making google searches! Where was this image even found, from infowars or some bizarre Trump blog ?

Are you off some medication you should be taking ? Serious inquiry.

Are you really this retarded? It takes all of 3 seconds to do the test yourself. I am not pasting random images. I have checked, and seen virtually identical results, the bing results were ordered slightly different.
