I've been trying to say goodbye to all my friends and e-friends here but it's getting overwhelming so I thought I'd just make a thread.

For those that don't know, I'm off to Marine Corps Recruit Training for the next thirteen weeks.

I'll be heading out on Sunday, but the next few days are going to be crazy with last minute packing and shit.

To all my friends and acquaintances, later guys, I'll talk to ya all in thirteen weeks.

I appreciate all the advice that people have given me and the anecdotes that everyone has shared. BoomerD, Semper Fi, you badass. 😎

A final thing, if you are religious, I would greatly appreciate your prayers during this time. I have no illusions of ease and comfort but I know that I can make it and I'll appreciate all the help I can get. 😉

I'll probably get a chance to check in a few more times but in case not, keep it real and remember, this is real fvcking life. 😀

PS: In typical Dain fashion, I somehow decided that going rollerblading and attempting several show-off moves at the skatepark would be a smart idea. I pulled a few off and was doing great until I fell on my ass huge and banged my wrist really hard. Thank God I didn't break it. I would have been so screwed. Oh well, thought you may enjoy the final Dumbass Dain Story?. 😀

Seriously though, why don't you post your mailing address so we can choose to write you if we wish. At least pm it to me if you don't feel like posting it.

My Dad is an old Force Recon Marine. He actually was a D.I. down at Paris Island before doing three tours in Nam. He complains that the 'New Corps' is a bit sissyfied since their not allowed to beat you anymore if the wish. They didn't have that 'P.C. bullshit in the old Corps' he likes to say.

He does like to keep in touch with new Marines going through boot camp because he understands how it works and how it breaks you down in order to build you back up. He's supported many of my brothers friends (also a Marine) and helped them understand how certain things work whereas it might take you the full 13 weeks to learn otherwise.

Hell, I'm only a few hours away (greenville , SC) maybe we should have an ATOT Paris Island meet when you graduate! Assuming you're not going to S.F. that is, which I doubt you are.
