I'd love to see you apply the logic on the women involved in gamergate. They are scorned by women? Is that it? Or should we completely flip it around and apply it to feminists who have gone out of their way to attack a vast group of people, attacking a hobby they themselves do not even have any genuine interest in because they were "scorned by men"?
Btw the actual male equivalent for the Sarkeesians of the world would be if "scorned men" decided to demand that 50 Shades of Grey be rewritten to fit their taste, else they'd label it as misandric. Their actual total disinterest in that book would simply be not allowed in any discussion.
The idea that gamers are losers is not a new one, in fact that's what the hobby had to deal with for decades. So when these women come in claiming they have been kept out of some prestigious club, its simply absurd from the get go. And then they like you went straight into denigrating that group even more, and gamers finally got tired of it.

There is no equivalence. Anti GG just lies, dishonesty is what they rely on. Brianna Wu is a professional troll, and the fact that the media lets it slide says something about what's wrong.
There aren't really "sides", there is a fringe elite in media, and there are the rest of the people, the spectrum of people pissed off about this crosses political and ideological boundaries, because gamers were always a diverse audience, but they got a wake up call when these people decided to lie to to their faces and smear them.

The dominance of the left in media leaves them without competition, so they are bound to become corrupt, creating their own little echo chamber, but the scale of the total loss of journalistic integrity is pretty shocking. And the fear of any who do check their sources to speak up kind of says it all about the current atmosphere in media, all they can do is report the threat narrative.
