The one time you wanted to watch a foreign invasion to win and it gets interrupted. :(

At least we saw some boobies this time.

Yeah, seems that Olenna wasn't wrong in that listening to the fancy men usually doesn't end well. :p

...and goodness... I forgot how stunning the actress that portray's Missandei is.

...and at least the sand snake that likes to disrobe is still alive. :p (I think that was her.) If I remember right, one of the two that died was Colleen on Iron Fist.

So now that Cersi probably has the advantage in naval power in the East and it will take weeks at least for the Southern armies to walk I'm guessing no invasion of King's Landing for awhile. I do want to know what they were launching those fireballs with.

I would assume some form of catapults with their ammunition on fire.

I don't want to think about olenna and the "invasion" that almost happened in the boat at the same time.

Aria totally screwed up the scene with hot pie in eating the bread. It was blatantly obvious she wasn't eating the bread, yet the scene was sculpted to make her look like a wild animal eating. She would open her mouth wide, and then just take a little nibble...lolz

Looking forward to next week

How did Euron know Ellaria was going to be on Yara's ship and that they were sailing off splitting from the rest of Danaerys' forces? Euron must have a spy inside Yara's army me thinks

I've never read the books or watched an episode of the show, but heard about the nude scenes/naked women. Is it worth watching/spending my precious time to do so? ;)
Would the book/show be popular without nudity/violence? The local library has seasons 1-6 available in Blu-ray.

What are you, a kid from the 80's? It's a good show to watch with or without any nudity. If that's all you care about, there's this thing called the internet...

i was wondering the same thing... maybe varys? or even theon?

edit: i was also wondering how euron survived being stabbed what seemed like 100 times (one being in the groin-ish area) ... and you'd figure all the sand snakes would have poisoned tips on their weapons

I think dragons completely negate the advantage of naval power. As we saw last season 3 dragons can decimate an entire fleet quickly.

It was a really bad move for her to send her fleets out without her dragons to escort them. The dragons would have been able to spot and destroy any approaching ships long before they got close enough to harm her fleet.

Prior to a few weeks ago, I would have rolled my eyes at the thought of an entire fleet sneaking up on an entire fleet and getting close enough where they can ram you without ANYONE noticing... then a billion dollar Navy ship rammed a cargo ship and all disbelief went away.

I said the same thing about the tips being poisoned to my wife during that scene. I guess this was the one time they didn't have their weapons poisoned.

That is true but then she would have to go with them as once out of her sight they kinda seem to do whatever they want to do.

At first I did too but I think the poison has to be applied relatively soon before being used, see Oberyn polishing his weapons with the assumed poison right before his fight with the Mountain, since this was a surprise attack there probably wasn't enough time.

The manpower, resources, and most importantly the time required to make all of those ships just does not add up. It's easy to forgive a lot of plot elements, but this is a pretty important detail.

The reality is that the attacking fleet would have been spotted hours before contact, but that if they has set up a good ambush it would already be too late to stop them. What would have followed is a full day of maneuvering to only end up in a similar situation. Tall ship naval combat in reality would be really boring to watch as everything happens in slow motion over hours only to end suddenly. The battle is mostly won or lost already by the time the ships are close enough to board or ram each other.

The way the two chicks were nearly scissoring without a worry in the world told me that they basically thought they were untouchable and didn't think there was a possibility of anything bad happening to them.

I think the writers wanted you to believe that the attacking fleet couldn't be seen because of the fog. But that works both ways. The naval battle seemed like some deus ex machina bs to me.

I think that mostly the writers wanted a naval battle that was not boring. I'll forgive them for ignoring reality where it gets in the way of a good show.

Do you mean the fleet Euron had?

Remember they still had a large fleet as Asha only took the ships and crew that were loyal to her.

Many of us knew that was coming, and that it was going to be bullshit when it did.

I am expecting Bran to warg a dragon and roast the anti-air crossbow/s. Or are they going use that as the plot device to make the final battle more dramatic by eliminating the air power that would set thousands of WWs aflame.

Gendry has to be a surprise MFers! moment that is coming. I expect him to return with the secret of making Valyrian steel weapons. They did take the time to have the conversation about his making some arrow tips for the brotherhood after all. Maybe prove to be the difference against the tank class WW or used to kill the captains? Or make the children we saw practicing archery highly effective? I suppose dragon glass would do as well for most of that. With exception of armoured WWs? I do not recall the show covering anything about specifics involved in making it so I will not elaborate. A couple of women would be key though, if my thinking is right.

Daenerys failed to take excellent advice, and her naval power was just eliminated as a result. This should put an end to the measured and calculated approach to warfare. Perhaps she will "burn them all" like pop demanded, and "be a dragon" as suggested?

The most dramatic finale is likely to stem from war in the 7 kingdoms resulting in serious attrition for all the forces. No more than a single dragon, or perhaps none, being available for the final battle. And events resulting in there being far too little dragon glass and forces when the time comes. Sansa and/or little finger could be the monkey wrench to propel that storyline.

So now the Mountain gets to rape and murder one of Oberon's daughters, while said daughters mother (Ellaria) watches. Then he gets to rape and murder Ellaria. I can't think of a better gift for Cersei. Perfect payback for killing Myrcella.

However, it seems like Euron may be impotent after the groin stabs he incurred during the battle. Will he be worth marrying? :D
