Just wait until next season when
Cersei Lannister finds out who Tyrion's whore really is and seduces her to turn her against Tyrion. that chapter was almost pornographic :D

There's also the lesbian scene (book spoiler)
with Taena and Cersei where you also find out how much she likes eating sperm.

tena, the wildling?!

lesbian scene and sperm does not compute

Taena from Myr.

Here's the part from the book:
She wanted to see if it would be as easy with a woman as it had always been with Robert. Ten thousand of your children perished in my palm, Your Grace, she thought, slipping a third finger into Myr. Whilst you snored, I would lick your sons off my face and fingers one by one, all those pale sticky princes. You claimed your rights, my lord, but in the darkness I would eat your heirs. Taena gave a shudder. She gasped some words in a foreign tongue, then shuddered again and arched her back and screamed.

I hope we see Ghost or Greywind again in the last couple of episodes.

Sort of relevant to the plot. Although the recent changes may have changed that.

For people who read the books (also: this is NOT a spoiler, don't worry): For some reason I have always considered beyond the wall/wildling territory as very foresty. am I wrong? I was just taken aback for some reason by the just stark rocky, snowy territory they are in. Any one else who has read the books agree? Not that i mind much.. it was just set in my head for some reason..

You all probably formed an opinion of the North during the long summer where the books start off. The North was mentioned much more as they weren't confined to a 1 hour segment at a time :)

When winter comes the North is affected first. They do have wood though, the scenes probably took place in a more barren place.

Same here.

In the books they are talking about how they had to cut the trees back in order to keep a clear LOS against anything that would attack the wall (and how their diminishing numbers made it hard to do now).

Also, I remember the Knoll scene, and where I think the daggers were found (before John split off, so I think I am safe in talking about this). It al felt wooded... except for the mountain pass where he first met Ygrette....

IIRC, they are far away from the wall now. Near the wall there are forests. It is mountainous further on

Right after the wall is the Haunted Forest.

They went to the Frostfangs to search for Mance, which is mountainous, but there were still trees there.

The Fist of the First Men was on a hill not a mountain. There were still woods around the area.

Iceland looks nice, but it is definitely lacking in the tree department.

It was just beyond the wall. As mentioned in the books, the Night's Watch chopped back the first few hundred yards of forest to give them a clear sight of anyone approaching the wall.

But north of that? I'd expect it to be like it is here. Too cold to support much wildlife and so it's barren tundra.

Impressions on the ending of episode 9:

I don't think it was necessary to show the ending of the battle in this episode. Would have made for a great cliffhanger with Tyrion dying and Cercei committing suicide. Besides, in the book it wasn't clear what happened when the battle ended. Here we see Tywin having clearly secured an alliance with the Tyrells right away.

As much as we are supposed to dislike the Lannisters, I really enjoyed Tyrion's role this season. The show makes him a likeable guy who gets screwed by everyone because he's a dwarf. Sad to see episode 9 end the wat it did

It wasn't Ser Meryn, it was Mandon Moore. Both work for Joffery though.

He may have been ordered to make sure he was 'killed' in battle as well. This was the goal of everyone trying to force Joffery to have no choice but to truly lead his men into battle.

In the end, his mom saved him yet again from himself.
