Feel free to be as obtuse as you want to be.
I knew what you were implying...I just wanted to hear you state it before responding. But such would require reasonable discussion on your part, something which you seemed to have difficulty with.

She actually wasn't paid anything:

I suspect it isn't necessary to pay them given the amount of exposure they get from that large an audience. Think about what it does for their album sales and concert attendance.

She was probably paid for her Tiffany ad, which considering Tiffany also paid for the superbowl halftime show performer, they either paid her a lot, or got a heck of a deal because she shows up multiple times as the halftime performer in addition to her Tiffany spot, so a lot of brand recognition going on there.

She did great I thought. To those who think she lip synced, you're wrong. Its very obvious she sang live.

After watching the Mariah Carrey debacle on New Year's Eve, I am surprised that people said she was lip syncing. That had to be some of the best rehearsal for lip syncing. She also would have had to add pauses to pre-recorded songs because there were distinct parts during her performance where she had the music playing and interjected other words or pauses where her normal lyrics would have been. She then picked up the song where she left off.

If that is lip syncing, then I can live with it.

Anyway, not sure why conservatives would be upset unless it is because of prior statements/views made by her. But I watched the whole show and thought it was great. It was refreshing to have a night of mostly no political statements.

there were several places where what she was "mouthing" didn't match what we were hearing...(or a couple of places where you'd HEAR her singing...but her mouth wasn't moving at all.) Kind of like the sound track was out of sync with the video track...then it would be "right" again.

I firmly believe that MOST of the performances where the singer is dancing all around the stage...but never misses a beat, never sounds out of breath, is probably either lip-synced or enhanced. Professional athletes are in GREAT condition...and they sound winded after their plays...who would believe a singer who isn't conditioned would be able to bounce and jump around...and never miss a note? (this isn't an anti-ga-gag me rant...even though I don't particularly care for her, but rather aimed at all performers of her ilk.)

ROFLMFAO! You cannot honestly believe that.

check the hi dad, hi mom part.. so she was certainly live for part of it, but she lip synched some as all the high intensity stuff had her gasping for air, so I don't blame her for lip synching.

Great performance. I really like Katy Perry's show too. But last year snooze play were there huh? didn't notice em.

hehe clever. I just messaged him.

I'mm going with live. I'm not really a Gaga follower but she does seem to have some ethics about performances. I agree with Mongrel she should say Madonna was a big influence on her.

Exact same feeling. There's no question that parts, if not most, if not ALL of it was live singing. People can't possibly think it was all fake, do they?

her voice did sound winded when she got to the piano and spoke a few words. And then it was normal again while singing.....

The microphone was doing movements while she sang (going pretty far away at times) and there was no difference in the voice, and such shows are almost always lipsynced because it's very hard to do such an energetic choreography and sing well at all times.
Real concerts are almost always with everybody standing in their position, keeping the rhythm and dancing in place, for a good reason.

She's able to sing but the point of this was do a good show and that she did, not do a concert, so it's not really an issue if it was lip synced.

I watched. Looked lipsynced to me. No way you can contort your body like that flip around float down on wires and maintain perfect pitch.

The reality is they probably had a backing track that she had in her in ear monitoring that she sang against. They would do real time pitch correction on her voice and mix it in when it sounded good and keep it out when it didnt. I'd have to listen again for any doubling or chorus stuff. If that was in the backing track already it would be easier to push her real voice into the mix.

This type of event isnt about can a singer sing perfectly while doing back flips. This performance first stuff is about making sure it looks and sounds good. Sometimes you cant have both so you go prerecorded as you for sure arent having lady gaga get on stage with an acoustic and a sm58.

I thought she did great as well. As far as lip sync, I don't know or care if she did .

What did Lady Gaga jump onto at the end, an inflatable bag? Or did she land on the field and break her neck?

Alright one of the pissed off folks said the emphasis on "Justice...for all..." was too blatant. I heard that too but come on. I told him he's being a pussy.
I'm sure he would have preferred she had emphasized "under God"? Would that have gotten him off rather than twisting his panties?

The chocolate rain kid knows how

LOTS of people know how. And sound engineers also know how to edit the breathing out.

I can see how it adds it can add a level of authenticity to the music by having the breaths in there, similar to the fingers moving on guitar strings as they reach different chords. BUT normally it is toned down so it is not just as loud, or even louder than her actual words.

When she said down it was painfully obvious and distracting. Please just admit that. We get she's beautiful and a wonderful performer, and has changed the landscape of the 21st century with this performance, but just admit the breathing sucked.
