I don't particularly care for the tactics of most protesters, but, considering that the current administration can call the biggest crackdown on individual rights ever the "patriot act" and get away with it.... I can see all kinds of unpopular opinions cracked down (violently or otherwise) on for being "unpatriotic." Considering that the last election proved me to be in the minority (actually synthesizing global economic/political realities prior to making a choice evaluating national leadership)... I'd really like to see my civil liberties with regards to protesting and free thinking protected right now :)

I wonder how they'd feel if I sat in a bush or tree today and started taking pot-shots at marching soldiers

Protesters are a real important indicator of american democracy. If there are no protesters on the streets then something is wrong with america's democracy-censorship, etc. Protesters also should protest because they have a right to(1st Amendment-freedom of expression). However, I agree sometimes they can be a pain to the ordinary passerbys but what can you do? It's in our bill of rights and it's their right ot a peaceful asembly..:)

They have this "indoor plumbing" stuff now. Really remarkable. I just got switched over a month ago and haven't run out of water yet. Wild, huh?

Yeah you try drinking LA tap water..

LA tap water isn't bad. Maybe your plumbing sucks?

I thought Penn and Teller did an excellent job on their show "Bullsh!t" when they replaced bottled water with LA tap water (out of a garden hose, no less) and no one could tell the difference. In fact, the majority prefered the tap water.

there was a sleaze bag earlier in Washington saying gay rights were being violated. lol what a douche bag

i hope this was satire? you were pretending to be a retard for laughs? obviously you know that communism is not the same as socialism AND protesting the government wasn't an option in communist countries. ever seen an anti-castro rally. didn't think so. but thanks for the laugh!
It wasn't satire. Just go read his posts in P&N.

Are you comparing retarded hippies waving signs to soldiers with muskets?
No, but you're generalizing all protestors to be "retarded hippies". Rather dishonest statement, don't ya think?

Just wait for the day when you feel the need to go out and protest something. And if that day never comes, well, I feel sorry for you.

No I'm not a professional protestor, but I did march in Toronto in the mid-90s against tuition hikes. When something stirs your passion enough to get you out into the streets, you will respect their position(s).

You're insulting those that fought in the Revolutionary War by placing protestors on their level.

"hippies"? hello time traveling friend from 1963. welcome to the future!

seriously, there's something wrong with you if, on some level, you don't appreciate how great it is that people can protest in this country, for whatever reason.

just ask this guy:

Boston Tea Party ring any bells? It had to start somewhere, right? It didn't start with a bullet but with a protest.

I don't have a problem with protesting in and of itself, just with most of the people that do it here in the U.S., where there are more productive methods to help bring about change.

let me clarify, modern day striking workers. i have no problem with the strikes of the 19th and early 20th century. i'm talking about the worthless supermarket workers in CA and the greedy airline employees.

Again, the protestors I see on the news today wouldn't be worth a damn in a fight.

protesting is a protected under the constitution. so is your right to get on her and complain about said protestors. just be happy you live in a country where you can do both without being run over by a tank.

Ye olde it's-part-of-the-game argument, eh? Well, AWPs are part of CS, but being a total jerkoff pussy is part of real life, so should you be one just because it's "Part of Real Life"? No, so don't use AWP BECAUSE IT's !@#$ING TOTAL JERKOFF PUSSINESS!!!! Add autosnipe to that, in Source.

You're comparing the freedom of speech, which thousands of people have fought and died for, to... counter strike?

lol. go flip burgers at McDonalds. and please don't breed.

That I am using CS to illustrate my point is irrelevant. My point is that there is a time, place, and reason for protesting, and it shouldn't be done simply because you can. To further illustrate the point using CS, I don't mind if the losing team starts to AWP when the teams are terribly unbalanced. If you cannot see my point, which wouldn't get more obvious unless I spelled it out for you (which I just had to do, unfortunately), you should be concerned with your own breeding habits, not mine.

I'll kindly ask that you remain in your home at all times and only deal with people in video games on the internet
