Forum was unuseable tonight

Great, except this thread has no info about what's going on.

If the admins need to take the board down for a few days to fix the connectivity issues, then they should.. the slowness is bad.

Just spoke with Anand on the phone. Our tech guys have been at this all day into tonight, as well as last night, but can't seem to isolate the problem.

As "we" were planning to upgrade our server system for both the main site and the forums anyway, and as those plans were already in the works, they are now going full steam ahead with the new stuff but making a priority of the forums.

This *could* be on-line as early as tomorrow, but no guarantees. We now return you to our regularly scheduled slowdown.

Everything that can be said is in the global announcement at the top of the forum. We're currently having MySQL problems and while the IT guys have tried several things, so far it's not working. So they have to head back to the drawing board as it were.

Oh sure...try to deflect the complaints by posting real information.

Seems to be working better now. MUCH faster than they were last night.

The site is excruciatingly slow. I was trying to help some people out with some builds and had trouble posting.

I hope these issues can be ironed out.

I believe a mod will say when they believe all the problems have been fixed, till then its not fixed.

At least the forum is up and running now faster than the promised approximate 6 PM.

As for the Perknose promise to pray, I would think he would know better, that nothing says sincerity like sacrificing a chicken, a goat, a cow, or even a virgin in increasing sincerity left to right order.

But still, at least the forum is staying up and other complete forum side functions may have to be gradually added later. Or so we can hope.

But wait, I better shut up and point out to Perknose, slicing up Lemons do nothing for sincerity.

It does feel like a DDOs. They never tell us if it is a DDOS, they just pay the attackers.

I've been experimentally neffing since the servers were back up. I have to say with my prelim results so far, I'm extremely pleased.
I seem to have saved .1 seconds between every post, add that up and I've saved 1-2 seconds of my life so far neffing. It's almost like being on fusetalk again.
