Google Finance: GM
Never even come close to being this low.

Google Finance: Ford @ 4.36
The last time it was this low, was in 1983!

Will they ever recover?
What will it take to become profitable again?
A massive reduction in models and assets, and then a specialization on their top sellers?

We hear about how bad domestic auto makers are doing... I just never really looked at their stock history before.
At least GM still has a dividend.

Heh, our next car will probably either be a Ford or GM product because of the special pricing I have available with those two automakers.

Yeah, I drive a Saturn (99 SL2) as well. We're a 1 car household right now but need another vehicle. Dropping my wife off at work then continuing on to my work is getting really old.

Word. We've been doing that because my car bit the dust and we didn't want to take on payments. Been saving money nicely, but it's time for a car. We're planning on a Chevy Malibu Maxx with ~30K miles on it.

Awesome stuff guys. =)

I had to buy my Saturn when I got a job farther away from the house about 8 months ago, before that I just walked.

I had GM Supplier Discounts + 0% APR, so it made it fairly affordable.

Don't forget to look at some of the offers out there now. So many great offers as they try to shift cards off the lots these days.

Yep. Through work I have both GM Supplier Pricing and Ford's X-Plan pricing available.

Are you suggesting we have a collaboration and put BOTH in?! That would work, right? right? :(

They better not tank, 1/2 my pension comes from them and the other half is 80% dependent on them.

Serves 'em right. They saw this coming and could have started retooling factories 2-3 years ago. But no, it was more SUVs, Hummers, etc.

put both of them in a quality car that will run like a kitten all the way to 200,000+ miles, and get at least 50 mpg, and not rust, and not feel like you are driving around in a small box on wheels, and i'd be sold with either the Ford or GM logo on it.

Chevy needs to really reduce diversity between brands they own, what is the point of having pontiac, chevrolet, buick, etc

pump out less good cars rather than alot of mediocre

So what about all of the other auto manufacturers who are still building huge SUVs? I mean, Toyota only has 6 different SUVs available right now.

There's talk of GM going out of business. I guess it's holdings in other companies is what's keeping them afloat.

Wouldn't that be something- GM dead or bought out?

but what will happen to "Baseball, Hot dogs, Apple Pie, and Chevrolet"?

Chevy really is an American past time, and now it's going to be just an American past.

Then that'll be two please. =)

Yeah I run into that issue as well. When I look at the estimated cost for the Aptera I think "Wow! I could afford that!" but then I know something like that won't move in the snow at all.

The Tesla..at least I could look good trapped in my driveway.
