The problem is that all those Wikipedia articles were not written by unbiased onlookers.....

The next problem and this is truly sad -- lets pretend that Hamas does use 90% of what it is given to try to help the Palestinian people.....

The other side of the remaining 10% is used to hurt the people it has been elected to lead.... so the 10% wipes out the 90%???

Can you really explain why a people such as the Palestinians would find this to be a good trade off???

It was the morning that followed the night when 15 israelis soldiers where killed, early morning the israelis took vengence by using tanks to shell streets full of civilians using tanks at long range wich are innacurate but it was all the point, to kill civilians as a revenge.

10% are for structural costs, they are the most efficient state structure in the world, no other state manage to pay its structure with 10% of its income, Hamas are not corrupted people like the Fatah or the israeli establishment.

For one thing, because of what happened in Jordan. For another, well, one doesn't generally train an attack dog and then invite it into the house with one's own children.

my original point was that since violence obviously hasn't done them any favors after 60 years of trying, why not try peace and negotiating with Egypt/Jordan on opening the borders on those sides?

They could try that but I guarantee that if Egypt opens their side of the border to the free movement of goods then it won't be the Palestinian authorities controlling the other side for long.

Gaza has a long coast, look what happens if they try to use that.

They are free, of course, since Iran give some subsides to Gaza , hence to the Hamas, actualy they should give them guided missiles so the israelis could no more use their "civilians" as human shields by dissiminating their military bases though the whole land.

as long as Hamas is running Gaza, though, and giving Israel every indication possible that they're going to use an open border to import weapons to be used on Israel, what motivation do they have for ending the blockade?

all these rocket strikes do is reinforce their position.

What obligation is Egypt under to allow international trade via its own territory?

What is factually wrong is blaming Israel for Egypt keeping the Egyptian-Gaza border closed.
