Trident,
here's a bit of inspiration of what you could have if you at least try in life...
I'm not rich, I'm far from it. But because I put some effort towards that goal I was able to achieve it. I am now able to own my own fully furnished house. Ok, so maybe I don't own that furniture yet since I have to pay it off, but you get the idea.
If you at least get a low end job you can pay for college if that free college program does not work out for you, then save up for a house or apartment, well don't really need to save up for an apartment, so you could even move out right after college. Or if you really want to move out before.
When you do move out you'll realize all the stuff your parents did for you. You'll have to learn how to cook, do laundry, clean the house, and dare I even say, DIY jobs like electrical work and plumbing? Yep, your dad probably does all this stuff without you even realizing. Broken toilets and clogged sinks don't fix themselves.
If you do get free college then all that money you saved up could be a nice down payment on a house or car. Personally I'd concentrate on a place to stay first, there's nothing wrong with taking the bus, or bike to work, or if you're lucky you can find a place nearby to work at.
