I am sorry but cops are cool with risking their lives in gunfire but whine when someone gets clipped while pulling someone over?! Sounds like a whining excuse to me..... just my .02

What are you, retarded?

Let me guess you are a cop?? Let's take a look back and see how much education is required to meet this demanding position?! Actually very little, a high school education and the will to get killed. No offense man, but these kinda laws are just freaking retarded, you really don't think this is to help make money? It costs less to get arrested with drugs

what are you confused? Failing to understand how noone hear understands what I am saying

I'm not arguing the law, I just don't think I went against it. I clearly wasn't going to hit anybody.

Maybe you should read the laws for your state?

Normally when you see an emergency vehicle you adjust your driving depending on circumstances...

1) slow down considerably
2) move over and stop
3) move to the left lane

all sorts of stuff depending on the situation. In your case you really should have moved over AND slowed down.

Then I recommend you fight it. Bring lot's of lube to court though. Last time I went to traffic court everyone was found guilty.

I am failing to see how you don't recognize how ignorant you are. If a cop were to save your life, they are the best people ever. If they give you a ticket because you were risking the lives of others, you hate them. Then you go as far as insulting their education and saying that a cop is "whiney" if he shows pain after being hit by a car. Grow up

They have that law in Texas. You must either:
A) Change lanes
B) Slow down to 20mph under the speed limit. I would assume that if you were in a school zone, you would be trapped indefinitely if you chose B.
C) Scream "Fvcking pigs!" as you fly past them in your Miata.

I'll be sure to quit school ASAP before I get my Bachelor's in May. You know, because all I need is my HS degree and the will to get killed.

I can offer competitive benefits. All you need is a nice tan and the will to gag.

Ask for the mercy of the court in the court case. Try to get them to drop the misdemeanor.

Not when I went, the judge was a real hard-ass.

Fight it. Go to court and plead not guilty. By the time your day comes up, the cops will have forgotten about the particulars of the case and will probably not even show up, resulting in an immediate dismissal. Worked for me more than a few times.

Sounds like they had a trap set up. Talk about crooked. that's such a b.s. reason to nail someone. What if there was enough traffic that changing lanes wasn't easily possible? Were the "emergency responders" pulled far enough off to the right that they had plenty of safety room regardless?

Edit: Up here, when cops pull someone over, they park with half their car hanging out into the right lane! wtf??

Laws like this generally say you have to slow down to either 20 mph below the speed limit, or some arbitrary speed, whichever is higher.

And the reason they park their car like that is so idiots don't run them over! Oh look, flashly lights, I'll just stare at them so my car drifts that way...

anyways happend to me too...didnt pull to left even though i couldnt have hit anybody and was slowed down. I dunno what to say about this one...seemed silly to me at the time, still seems foolish as in the time cop took to pull me over and write my warning the 2 semis passed and im guessing at least 2-3 cars were easily speeding. until you get caught breaking this law, its kinda like you think your doing all you can to keep em safe but they want even more, and every new law that gets passed like this limits the publics ability to operate without fear of the police.

Its a conspiracy against you and your girlfriend.

Common sense says you move into the farthest lane "away from" any vehicle that is disabled or pulled over to the side of the road. UNLESS.....you are prevented from moving from that lane in which case its still common sense to slow to a safer passing speed.

How is it possible to hit a cop while hes getting out. Either way he will be getting out from his drivers side which is usually facing the concrete barrier or whatever, not the highway.

Who pulls over to the left?

F**king idiots that shouldn't be on the road in the first place.

Welcome to the real world. Cops for the most part are under educated, power hungy a$$holes, for whom the rules do not apply.
