So I cruise by, obeying the speed limit, and all of a sudden, the second cop pulls me over.

I got a ticket for "failed to use due caution for emergency responder"? It's not just a civil infraction, but a 4 point misdemeanor. Apparently, I'm a criminal for not merging left one lane?

I used to have a perfect driving record too.

And 10 minutes later, my girlfriend calls, and was pulled over by the same cop, for the same charge!

Wow thats a beach. I'll be sure to watch for that in the future :Q

Holy ****** the lady in the car is annoying. "Did you get hit by a car?" "Are you ok?". STFU you stupid bitch. You just saw him get hit and you insist on asking stupid questions while he's obviously in distress and pain. God, I would have arrested her for being an annoying bitch.

Geez, she's showing concern. She shouldn't get out of her car, that would only make the cops job harder than it is. What do you want her to do? Act like nothing happened?

Agreed.. he didn't seem like he was really hurt either. Just really pissed off sounding.
Good thing you're not a cop.

Must just be me then. But she just seemed really annoying. Why say anything? He's on the radio trying to get himself help and she's asking him dumb questions.

"Can I go now?"

 she never asked that...

On the expressway?

How is it possible to hit a cop while hes getting out. Either way he will be getting out from his drivers side which is usually facing the concrete barrier or whatever, not the highway.

I'm in Michigan. I guess the point I'm trying to make is that I wouldn't mind getting a ticket/fine for my mistake, but a 4pt misdemeanor that will probably cost a crapload of cash?

I wouldn't be complaining if I wasn't now on level with drag racing, and just under drunk driving.

Nobody is exempt from the law. That said, I'll be staring off into this vast meadow for at least 10 minutes and I don't see anyone else around...

When you get hit by a car I will just stand there and stare at you with a  look on my face. That would be best right?

That would be better than "Did you get hit by a car" when you just saw it happen one foot away from your face. And repeatedly asking me "Are you OK?" when I'm on the radio trying to get myself help.

Well, I got caught using the HOV lane illegally in Nashville in '99. The officer told me to pull over to the left shoulder. He actually gave me a break because he clocked me going 12 over the speed limit and using the HOV lane, but only gave me the HOV lane ticket.

Strange, I just thought it was common sense to move over and slow down when people are on the side of the road. Last thing I'd want to do is hit a pedestrian. Kind of sad laws even have to be passed (much less enforced) for this type of thing.

I'm not arguing the law, I just don't think I went against it. I clearly wasn't going to hit anybody.

The driver of the Cadillac that hit the officer was an 83 year old lady. She was caught the next day...oddly enough, she was going to the hospital to pickup her husband and was there the same time that the police officer was treated.

How do I know all this? The officer was on Oprah. ;)

BTW....fight the ticket. You weren't speeding and you were wanting to take the exit. It's more dangerous for YOU to change lanes if you came up on the vehicles before you noticed that you would need to get over. That's a stupid law....the question is, how far on the shoulder were they...as long as you stuck to the left side of your lane, that should be sufficient.

They were all the way in the shoulder as far as I could tell. I was quite a ways away from the car when I passed it. I did make sure to stick to the left side of the lane, also.

What are you, retarded?

Let me guess you are a cop?? Let's take a look back and see how much education is required to meet this demanding position?! Actually very little, a high school education and the will to get killed. No offense man, but these kinda laws are just freaking retarded, you really don't think this is to help make money? It costs less to get arrested with drugs
