It was leaked on torrent websites earlier this month, so a whole bunch of people already have it. Plus, the Japanese version has been out since March. I don't have a modded PS2, so I can't wait till tomorrow.

What part are you up to? I just beat Giruvegan; all of my characters are 50+ with about 23 Mob Hunt Missions done and most of the Licensing board filled.

Main characters are Basch, Baltheir, and Fran. Basch is the tank using an Axe/Hammer, Baltheir is Theif/Healer (Gun), Fran is Healer/Support (Bow). I also throw Ashe in there with Healer/Support using the Katana.

i just got the second esper meteus, or whatever it's called, and backtracked to rabanastre to go into empire's territory. so I presume I'm still early in the game. Right now I'm just going around grinding and doing the hunts (~level iii).

characters are ~40+, vaan being around 46.
mainly using vaan (dagger/light), ashe(sword/heavy), fran (bow/light)
(nice animation work on fran's buttcheeks btw... 😱 :thumbsup: )

Actually sounds like everyone is playing the leaked torrent version. But yes if you play the japanese version you need to be able to understand and read japanese.

At around 40+, you shouldn't have a problem with a few of the level IV/V Hunts. Around your level, these hunts shouldn't give you too many problems:

The White Mousse (Lost in the Pudding) - V
Ring Wyrm (For Whom The Wyrm Tolls) - III
Marilith (A Tingling Toast) - V
Feral Retreiver (Befoulment of the Beast) - III
Vorpal Bunny (A Chase Through the Woods) - III
Mindflayer (The Mine Flayer) - IV
Atomos (Trouble in the Hills) - III
Braegh (Rodeo to the Death) - IV
Darksteel (Shelled Obstruction) - IV
Fermon (Old Legends, Decaying Bonds) - V
Orthros (Crime and Punishment) - V
Nanau (Paradise Risen) - III

The Trickster and Antlion may be especially difficult for you right now. Especially the Trickster.

Add to that list the Vyraal. That's a job you get in Balfonheim. It does a hell of a lot of damage (1500+ a shot). It was relatively easy considering I chained a Mist Quickening for good damage and had X-Potions.
 
meh, i lost interest around FF9. never finished it.

Played part of 10 but just didn't care about it at all. then i sold my ps2 with like 3 or games unfinished and about 2 not played at all. i had my ps2 for like 3 months before i sold it. just nothing that really interested me.

I'd prefer to just have to manage more characters in each battle and have bigger fights.

Looking forward to picking this up; supposedly my local Gamestop will have it at midnight... but I don't know if I'm nerdy enough to show up that late for it 😛 Might just pick it up tomorrow.
 
I actually just picked mine up, surprised me with a "we already have it, its 49.99" when I called. Looks like they shipped it out early, unlike most other games. Im glad because being in Hawaii, we usually have to wait like 2 days 🙁
 
So, is there actually an awesome villain this time?

I mean, FFX's bad guy (the dude with the stupid voice) plain ol' sucked; FF9's wished he was Sephiroth; FF8's... well... it was awesome until 1/3 of the way through; FF7's Sephiroth was quite good, actually; FF6 had a dorky clown and just about ruined the rest of the game's awesomeness.

Point is, I don't feel that the Final Fantasy series has a good track record with villains. How does FFXII's stack up?

I never finished 7 or 8 fully. Just downloaded the save files from 'net and beat them from the last saving points in the game. Time?

I'd love to know the whole story, but my friends usually fill me in, LOL

Now, FF6, I finished the game straight through. It was probably the best, I felt more inclined to finish this one because my level of interest in the game was quite in depth with the story and characters.
 
One of the things i hated about the newer FF games is the amount of FMV. I tried to play FFXII but man i got tired of it.

does this one have about the same?
 
Thats it, I'm putting my Xbox (original) on ebay tonight so I can pickup a PS2 and get this game. I shouldn't have sold the PS2!!!

Has a good amount, but you can hit Start and then press X to skip through the FMV.

Damn you. I just franctically called every store in a 10 mile radius of me, and no one is selling until tomorrow.

Yeah I think my particular store broke the release date. Try smaller stores. The big ones probly have it in stock but just arent going to sell to tomorrow because tomorrow is official release date. But guarantee they have it, because theres no way Hawaii can have it and you guys not 😛
