You must love the Suikoden series then. :p

Actually in a way I sort of agree with this. One of my favorite things about FFIV was that my party was set as dictated by the story. Yeah, there were a lot of characters, but your final party was already decided. I liked that.

The Suikoden series is, IMHO, AWESOME. I love it (well, one and two... haven't touched the PS2 portion). The story is great, but it does bother me a little that there are so many characters. Typically I identify with a specific core group and build mission groups around that. But I still feel bad for not using the 50 other characters at my disposal. :p

I actually just picked mine up, surprised me with a "we already have it, its 49.99" when I called. Looks like they shipped it out early, unlike most other games. Im glad because being in Hawaii, we usually have to wait like 2 days :(

Damn you. I just franctically called every store in a 10 mile radius of me, and no one is selling until tomorrow.

Yeah I think my particular store broke the release date. Try smaller stores. The big ones probly have it in stock but just arent going to sell to tomorrow because tomorrow is official release date. But guarantee they have it, because theres no way Hawaii can have it and you guys not :p

Oh I know they have it ;). I work at Best Buy, and I see the goddamn box full of them everytime I go back into inventory to grab a TV. Too bad I can't just grab one :p. The last guy who did that (for Madden ''07) was caught and fired.

Yay! I got it yesterday. I can't tell you all how, bc I'd probably be banned ;). JK, no I'm not, ok really.

Anyhow, haven't got a chance to play it yet. Had to get ready for halloween. I'm playing through VII at the moment, in my never ending quest to beat every FF game (not including online or anything outside of the main series like Mystic Quest - because it totally sucked balls).

I can't decide if I should play FF X-2 next and wait for good guides, etc to come out, or just start in XII.

Opinions on X-2 anyone?

I agree. I'm playing VII now, and I have to keep Cloud, giving me only two other slots to fill. And the characters I use get powerful, and then there is no point in putting the lower level characters back in. I don't mind so much having so many characters and having to do this, but what gets me is WHY CAN I ONLY HAVE THREE?

I feel that that is totally lame. In I-III I could have four, then in IV I could have five (which I think is best), and then it's all downhill. Playstation, I'm sorry that you don't want to have to render so many characters... but after the PS1 releases, just give me some more characters already at least!!

That is all. Go on about your business ;).

Spoiler: You will regret deeply not leveling all your characters in the final battle.

That's one of the downsides of J-RPGs.

How gay is the FFXII guy? The last FF I played properly was 7, and Barret was pretty tough... Cloud not so much but I wouldn't say he was feminine...

One of the males is a younger boy, so he looks less masculine. Another one of the male characters is a brash former knight, and the other one is like a bravado-type character.

I'm getting a cheap PS2 in a few weeks to play this. Should I buy the game now so I make sure I can get it? Or is it selling out not a risk?

There will be tons of copies. 37.99 however is the cheapest you'll probably see it for quite some time, except maybe on Black Friday. I'd pick up the game if you can get it for 37.99 (Circuit City ships it free).

Well I have to pay taxes for either Buy.com or CC, so it's going to be around $41 for me.

I went to buy Tourist Trophy today and saw FFXII both were $48.99 CAD. I read the back three time to make sure it wasn't like FFXI (FMITA with monthly fees type game. FFXI is the only FF I don't and will never own, plus I have a slim ps2 that wont take a hard drive). When I realized it wasn't I got it. The battle system will take some getting used to (don't like it so far but don't hate it) but I like the game so far. I guess Tourist Trophy will have to wait till my next pay check.

I'm about 3 hours into the game and I definitely don't like the battle system so far. Just doesn't feel like Final Fantasy to me.
