Yup the Enzo isn't exactly pretty. Wonder how it's main competitor the Porsche GT will stack up. Will be an interesting battle. Both great cars though....

First of all everyone saying to trick out a corvette and it's just as good as the enzo: Step away from the crack pipe.

I've seen a civic on TV do 0-60 in 3 seconds flat. That's faster than the enzo. It was also cheaper. Is it just as good? Seriously. Just say no to drugs.

Enzo is a sweet car but my heart is still with the mclaren f1!

HAHAHAHA, good one 😛

The McLaren F1 is my dream car, followed by the Carrera GT, 360 Modena, then the Lambo Gallardo

Sorry, I stopped reading this thread once I started seeing the Vette comparos...

you're comparing a 50k car that's had it's motor juiced up to a WORLD CLASS road legal racer? I can make a Honda 4 banger put out 800 HP, does it make it as good of a car as the Linginfelter?

The Enzo was built from the ground up to perform like a racer, I'm positive the Vette (other than something as modded as the C5R) will never have comparible handling capabilities.

When you have this kind of money to spend on a *car* then you will have a fleet of cars or you don't car about luggae space or if its a daily drive around. You will have a big ass Merc or so for that or what not.

I'd take the Enzo EASILY but I'm a Ferrari and F1 fan. I bet it really goes on a race track.

How would the Linginfelter handle on a race track that has the usual curves and bends? I'd *guess* it wouldn't compete against the Enzo........

Side Note: Jay Kay bought the last Enzo a few weeks ago. He got number 399 or 499 can't remember which but definately one of the two. Hes a BIG car fan. His gf said he was more excited about getting a new car then sex at times!

The production run was 399
The price tag is $652,000

The factory has to approve each and every sale in an attempt to keep the buy-it-and-turn-it scalping to a minimum.

Sports car fanatic Jay Kay is bursting with pride as he picks up luxury motor number 14. The singer forked out £425,000 for a 220mph Ferrari in Maranello, Italy. It is the last one of the 399 special edition Enzo model.

Yeah thats it. I wonder who else has one?

Also they said 399 special edition Enzo model so does this mean they will have non special edition Enzo models?

£425'000 x 399 = £169'574'000

DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM thatsh ow much Ferrari just made in one SWOOP of designing that Enzo.

Wonder how much it cost to make?

Hey, everyone, take a chill pill. IM sorry you misinterpreted what I said. I didn't mean the Vette was as good as the enzo in general, but what we were saying was that it was just as fast. So the performance of the car wasn't completely breathtaking compared to these "tricked out POS corvettes", rather the fact that its, well, an Enzo.

Every few years Ferrari, produces a limited-edition model that translates everything it has learned in Formula One racing into a street-legal production car.

The Enzo is actually fourth in the series, which began with the 288 GTO in 1984, followed by the F40 in 1987 and the F50 in 1995.

The initial production run was 349. But in October 2002, Ferrari announced it would build another 50 cars ? but no more after that. These lucky few buyers represent the most ardent "Ferraristis," well-known collectors with whom the company has been dealing for many years.

That might be why they call it a "special edition" Enzo?

The corvette isn't just as fast or faster, unless you drive it only straight ahead... on a track where you have curves, you would have to drive it like it had half the power it actually has...

The enzo was built for the horsepower it has, everything about the car screams racer, the vette was never built to handle that kind of power...

😀

good luck catching the enzo in a 170 MPH apache though

Considering the Apache can go in a straight line and that it doesnt have to "catch" the Enzo, just hit it, I dont think you would even need good luck

I bet Batman would rather have the Ferrari. If it's good enough for Batman, it's good enough for me.

Cool thanks for the info.

I knew the F40 and the F50 were suppose to be *F1 type of cars turn to street legal cars* and same with the Enzo but didn't know why they called it *Special Editions* Enzo. I guess the extra 50 made it special though?

I prefer the look of the F40 to the F50 myself though. F50 the curves are too much, prefer the style of the more straight F40.

Read the first post in this thread again. Was it about track performance? Was it about how many g's an Enzo can pull? Was it about a new slalom time of the Enzo?

NO. It was aimed towards ZERO TO SIXTY times. Look at the friggin' title.

The fact is, the Enzo's 0-60 time (which again, which is why this thread was started), is beat BADLY by a car that costs a fraction of its price. Therefore, one can conclude that the Enzo's 0-60 time is NOT that impressive.

NO ONE is claiming that the Vette is a more desirable car, or a car that's even in the same league as the Enzo.

But still, while we're on the subject, the 427 Vette pulls over a G on the skidpad, and anyone who says the Vette in any form is only a straight line car needs to get their head checked.

And..to anyone that talks about making a Civic a fast car, may I remind you that the Civic is a front wheel drive econo box designed for getting good gas mileage. You will not be able to make it turn in whatever direction you point the wheel and expect it to go there. The Vette is a sports car, designed to go fast and handle well, practicality being second. The Enzo, on a different level obviously, has the same philosophy. Comparing those two is just a little more valid than putting a Civic in the mix.

park inside a tunnel 🙂

Lingenfelter Corvette wins in terms of performance/value. A real enthusiast goes for performance first.. a European yuppy goes for a Ferrari.

If you want an exotic sports car that you can actually drive without having to get a repair every 3000 miles instead of an oil change, get a Porsche, Mercedes, BMW...
