feminism is a joke anyway.
"oh let's be equal." "oh open the door for me." "oh carry this heavy box for me."

Pretty sure somewhere there's a patient in a mental hospital who would understand exactly what you mean, for rest of us your sentence structure looks like diarrhea.

I understood it, but not in a metal hospital (though I sometimes think I have a mental problem so should be in one).

edit: I'll re write it for you ;)

feminism is a joke anyway. They say "oh let's be equal."

but then follow that up with "oh open the door for me." or "oh carry this heavy box for me.".

Talk about "being equal" :(

Because keeping women in their place keeps them from leaving when they get beat, as is proper when they back-talk their man when he drinks.

Totally with you here guy.

This thread is not about a specific relationship question and the topic itself would be better served in P&N, so moving from L&R to P&N.

I'm pretty sure women started working because a world war broke out, and there weren't many men here to do the work. :hmm: So technically, men destroyed the family. Good job guys!
That and the fact that with smaller families and modern conveniences, both parents can work and still maintain a family and a household. I still think it's better to have one parent at home, but it's no longer necessary. And as we moved from a mostly agrarian society to a more industrialized society, there were more jobs women could do and fewer chores that women had to do.

Can I haz lesbians pleez?
LOL +1

I support women's equality.

Feminism is not women's equality.

Sixty years ago, my grandmother left my grandfather because he was physically abusive. She moved away and got a job working in a factory to support herself and her four young children. Her job represented the sole financial support for her family.

If my grandmother had gotten equal pay for equal work the quality of life of her and her family would have been greatly improved.

I have never had a problem with feminism and everything it represents

Enough about the old farts. I'm an old retired fart and I absolutely prefer sexy over the "femininity" my mother used to display (incl. matching hat, gloves, purse, and shoes). I fondly remember the days when the wife wore mini-skirts and a t-shirt. And she still works a job she likes while past 65.

I believe you because of the incomprehensibility of your prattle.

Imho, Feminism and the ERA were artificial creations designed to destroy family (values) and degrade women. Also, global bankers realized they needed a way to get women into the workforce because only half the population were paying taxes. I miss the femininity that women used to display. Women are now deliberately objectified and de-feminized into roles more like the male species. Women are no longer revered but are "engineered" to appear degraded and dominant.

Hm, getting women into the workforce to depress wages of men is an interesting idea, I never considered that. Definitely in line with conspiracy theories but I can see someone in upper management seeing the movement and saying, hey, we could get cheaper labor with this, let's get behind it."

I agree about femininity. I've been watching Deep Space 9 and I much prefer Jadzia Dax's gentler, feminine character to Kira's feminist role.

I wonder when we'll have a backlash. I can't wait until women realize having this new found feminism doesn't give them their identity, either.

I got lost on how the global bankers were upset that only half the population were paying taxes. Why do the banks want any SO I might have to pay the state. What do they get out of that. I am sure that it was the state that schemed to get women into the work place, maybe even the military industrial complex because somebody had to rivet those bombers. I can see the NSA's hand in this.

And if you really do miss the femininity that women used to display then you are way way too old to be worrying about it or, alas, you are lying.

more taxpayers means more revenue governments can leverage against. This means lower interest rates, and less financial resistance to running up debt-- who cares, if the interest rate is low enough?

They mean that there is a lot of divorce.

Honestly I think that's partly a symptom of the quality of people, which may have declined. Previously the stigma of divorce made people get over it and work their way through it. This is good, but bad for the divorces that really do need to happen. Now with it being more socially acceptable, people check out much faster because they can, in a way similar to checking out and expecting the government to manage your kids in school perfectly, etc.

Now add to that the younger generation is not exactly able to jump out into life at 18, hard to find a job with a good enough wage to do that. No, you have to go to college instead before you can get a wage to support a family. So having to live with your parents and their messed up ways messes you up even further. (I'm speaking of myself, here.)

So, it's bad now, in 20 years should be even worse.
