Feds will "vigorously enforce" drug laws in CA if prop 19 passes

U.S. Atty. Gen. Eric H. Holder Jr., in a letter sent Wednesday to nine former chiefs of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, wrote, "Let me state clearly that the Department of Justice strongly opposes Proposition 19. If passed, this legislation will greatly complicate federal drug enforcement efforts to the detriment of our citizens."

I honestly was not expecting this to come from this administration. Like I said in the other thread, fuck the feds.

it'll be a shitstorm if we get DEA raids on unsuspecting grandmas

you know the first victim is going to be the dog, everytime.

Ns1, some people think I'm silly saying there would be riots over this shit, but I honestly believe there would be. What an excellent way for the Feds to push people away from their big government agenda.

"look at those damn druggies, we told you they were violent!"

I think that's good. Means federal agents will be here patronizing our businesses on Uncle Sam's buck, instead of it being a burden to CA taxpayer.

Utterly predictable, but the DOJ doesn't really have a choice. It's one thing to not raid medical MJ clinics; it's another thing to allow a state to be in blatant violation of federal law. Holder can't simply ignore an entire law passed by Congress when he's sworn to uphold the law.

But - assuming Prop 19 passes and highly visible arrests occur - some long-run good may result if a national dialog begins, questioning the war on drugs.

I'd just like to see a California secession movement get enough ground to scare the shit out of the Feds.

Seriously, Obama should hire you as his press secretary. You try to spin any turd dropped by this administration as a bar of gold.

To hell with The Feds, I wish California all the best and hope it passes. Wish my state had the balls to do something like this.

I never thought that the next major struggle for states' rights would be fought in Cali.

Holder's blowing smoke in the run-up to the election

Enforce the law? With what? W/o the help of local law enforcement, his task is impossible.

Everything is going to be fought in California including succession from a six fingered nation.

But he can fucking resign to protest being forced to uphold unjust laws, the worthless scum.
