I'd just like to see a California secession movement get enough ground to scare the shit out of the Feds.

those two words should never appear on a public forum.

FBI will be on your ass quicker than a Frenchman on your mother..

It will be interesting if this passes. However I suspect that whoever is elected Governor of CA and the CA Attorney General will be all for the federal government enforcing federal drug laws. So far the politicians in the lead for state races have come out against the proposition. So basically they will go around and start arresting major growers of the product and handing them long jail sentences. They will be prosecuted in federal court and probably the judge will force the juries not to consider the fact that state law makes pot legal. The local police forces will fall all over themselves helping the Federal police enforce the law, since they will probably get federal money. Basically it will be a big mess. Probably some dogs and some people will get shot. The police will get to play special forces Commando and dress up in fancy black outfits and bash down doors with H&K MP5 at the ready to kill any dogs that get in there way.

I think it is safe to say that California is going to be a shit storm on November 3rd. I could see people rioting over this. Not just because they want to smoke marijuana, but the principle.

That's exactly what I've been saying and people think I'm crazy for it. Just wait and see, if shit goes down riots will happen.

Utterly predictable, but the DOJ doesn't really have a choice. It's one thing to not raid medical MJ clinics; it's another thing to allow a state to be in blatant violation of federal law. Holder can't simply ignore an entire law passed by Congress when he's sworn to uphold the law.

But - assuming Prop 19 passes and highly visible arrests occur - some long-run good may result if a national dialog begins, questioning the war on drugs.

I'd like to see the feds come down like a ton of bricks on CA.

I don't want the federal drug laws questioned.

I want the whole concept of massive, distant, unresponsive, unrepresentative federal bureaucracy questioned.

Fresh, affordable fruits and vegetables are important to me.

Haha, the typical Democrat. One side of your mouth demands living wages for workers, the other side of your mouth demands cheap produce.

You're why Democrats are such big failures.

Thanks for exposing your hypocrisy. When it is something you want, it's fine for Obama to look the other way. When it is something you don't care about, "vigorous" enforcement is fine and expected.

What a tool.

Don't mind rights for workers, citizenship, decent wages, none of that matters to getting cheap fresh food on your table. Hypocrite.

Senseamp's need to save a nickel for a quart of strawberries seems to trump federal law, worker's rights, and probably even the Constitution itself. He'd make a fine addition to the Democratic ticket.

Won't the feds just shut off the money to force CA to comply with Federal law? They can't allow us to give them the finger without repercussions.

Of course they will. How do you think 21 became a national drinking age and .08% became the national legal BAC?

The feds are no better than the mafia. "That's a nice state you've got there. I'd hate for something to happen to it..."

Isn't the expansion of the commerce clause by the "progressives" a wonderful thing?

[franzia power] That Bureaucracy you want questioned created the drug laws to keep cops/prisons/lawyers/ thriving... so you think it is acceptable when the massive, distant, unresponsive, unrepresentative federal bureaucracy creates laws to oppress the citizenry so as to create profit for the legal system and Reagan and his South American counterparts? [/Franzia ftw]
