Just like with Arizona, its not the employers job to enforce immigration law.

No, but it IS the job of businesses to obey the laws and ensure to the best of their ability that their employees have the correct legal documents that prove their right to work in the USA.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E-Verify

I thought all states, and employers in those states, were required to use E-Verify. What a disgrace.

And even though the law is in effect here, like everything in this day in age everyone is too big of a pussy to actually follow the law and punish those caught that aren't obeying it.

Huh, people actually defend Sheriff Joe. Maybe he'll have a few more prisoners murdered under his watch to show his appreciation from his fans, you guys like that.

He had (ordered?) prisoners to be murdered? Holy shit, I must have missed this in the news. Was he acquitted?

People who actually expect all laws to be upheld, not just ones they agree with....we are the people who support Joe Arpaio.

If it weren't for people providing jobs to illegals we wouldn't have most of the problems of which you speak, except in cases like Obama's Aunt Zetie living off the US taxpayer.

You don't think that government officials benefit from illegals? You don't think school teachers benefit from illegals? Again, why do you only choose to punish business owners when politicians, teachers, and other government employees benefit financially from ignoring immigration laws as well?

We've come full circle. We now have the left claiming its OK to ask illegals for their papers.

🙄

Yo mama swims out to meet boatloads of illegals attempting to enter the US ...

(hateful librul commie-pinko anti-Amurican rhetoric)

WEll I am not suprised by the defending of Sheriff Joe here. I don't know how anyone can read that entire article and not support the feds in investigating this guy.

This alone is bad enough

In a separate investigation, a federal grand jury in Phoenix is examining allegations that Arpaio has abused his powers with actions such as intimidating county workers by showing up at their homes at nights and on weekends.

The dude is pathetic and someone needs to shut him down.

You are pretty pathetic convicting him in your own little mind based on ...

How about the tens of millions paid out by Maricopa County to cover wrongful death claims for prisoners who died while in Sheriff Joe's charge? As Sheriff, he is responsible for the safety of his prisoners. Maybe he needs to spend a bit less time primping for the cameras and more time running his jails.

Sorry...you must have been asleep for the past 30 or so years. I've ALWAYS advocated stopping illegal immigration and deporting those who are here illegally. I also support racial profiling in many cases. (How are you going to find the Mexicans who are here illegally if you don't profile those who LOOK like they're "illegal Mexicans?")

I also have no problem with profiling the "arabic looking" folks. Just a few have given the rest a bad reputation on airplanes...😛

So throw Americans in jail but then let the illegals go free? Sounds like a great plan! 🙄

LOL. You need to suggest a solution then or quit trollling. If Americans are breaking the law and know they are breaking the law then throw their asses in jail. The illeglas need to be deported all the way back to Mexico City, not just to some border town.

Are you suggesting we should put them in jail at our expense if their only crime was coming here to work at the invitation of some greedy ass business? Believe me, that is how it works.

Maybe the second time they get caught instead of deporting them we could throw their ass in jail and put them to work build a fence on the border.

What part of throwing them in jail if they are employing illegals is it that you don't seem to get? I have to laugh if you think you can muddy the waters so easily with your deflections.

I have to ask, how many illegals are you employing?

No, people who really hate brown people love Sheriff Joe. If you wanted laws upheld you wouldn't elect someone like him.

No, people who love letting illegals come into the country because they like the cheap labor they provide hate Sheriff Joe. It has nothing to do with color but your too bigoted to see that.

Lemme follow this...

First time get caught working illegally in the US, get deported. Second time get caught working illegally in the US, get hired by the US government to build a fence.

WOOT good plan!

None of the above...first time they're deported, send them by bus.

2nd time...send them by air...using a catapult.

We shouldn't have to deport too many a second time before they all get the hint and return on their own...

Maybe the problem is that they are being deported to the wrong area. Instead of dumping them at the Mexican boarder, ship them to Cuba. They can be dropped off at Gitmo and set free. Have fun in your new country, friends 🙂

And if a CIA or FBI agent kills someone, do you also hold POTUS personally responsible also?

Somehow I didnt think so. Nice strawman though (well, not really).

I think we are along the same thought line. I believe a strong border will prevent most illegal crossings. Guard our border the way many countries do-with arms. I bet it wouldnt take too many .50 caliber head shots before coyotes start thinking about a second career.

If you're saying being forced to work in a chain gang enviroment for bed and board would be the same as getting hired by the US government you don't know squat. I guess there are two ways to take your sarcasm and I'm not sure which you meant?

By Patranus' logic, I'm enforcing traffic laws when I drive the speed limit, stop at red lights, etc.

😀

Imagine when an officer pulls you over. "But officer, I was enforcing the traffic laws!"

Yes, because the Feds should be able to anything they want, right? Damn federal law, damn state law.

Should "Sheriff Joe" be able to do anything HE wants? Judging from the comments so far in this thread, it seems like his innocence is just assumed because he says he's fighting illegals.

I'm not sure that's how the legal system works...

On one hand many here back Joe because he is protecting the country and the constitution. But they ignore the fact that the same constitution protects all the citizens of this great country. It would appear Joe ain't applying those protections equally.
