It's pretty clear the Democrats led on by Obama, Pelosi, and Reid are not interested in defending the country. They only want more power, and if the country becomes a shit hole in the process, so be it.

What dastardly people we voted into office! *looks at AT Leftists*

You believe "illegal immigrants are bad" some of us believe "the laws that make it hard for people to immigrate legally" are bad. They are going to climb walls, swim across rivers, wait in queues, pay money, or do absolutely everything and anything they can to come into the USA. If we make it harder to get in, sure, a smaller number might succeed, but, it isn't going to solve anything. The only solution to illegal immigration is for Mexico to get it's shit straight, and for the quality of life in Mexico to rise. That is the only total solution.

Illegals aren't "invading", they are coming because they want to have a shot at the American dream. If we treat them like criminals, they'll act like criminals. But, I'll tell you this, if I lived in that shithole across the border, I'd do whatever it took to make it north. And I suspect 99% of everybody who things illegal immigration is a problem would also do the same....

This country needs major immigration reform. The statue of liberty says "Give me your tired, your poor/Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free." In doesn't say "fuck you if you aren't American." The message of America is one of majestic greatness, not of elitist greed.

They need to Fix their shit hole.

Much the way we are going to fix ours in November.

That is the biggest bunch of BS I have read on here for a long-time. You think the hundreds of MS-13 members who cross the boarder wouldn't be criminals if we didn't treat them like a criminal?
I don't think MS-13 gangbangers are coming over to take sub minimum wage jobs.

Hundreds of thousands of people migrate legally each year, but we should look the other way because they live in a shithole and want a shot a the American Dream. Give me a damn break.
No we shouldn't look the other way. Either kick them out or put them on some path to legal status. We shouldn't look the other way because businesses want a cheap source of labor.

Ehh ... every time we elect people to "fix" our shit ... they fvck it up more.

During Reagon administration, the government fvcked the middle/working class, did everything he could for the wealthy
During Bush administration, the government fvcked the middle/working class, did everything he could for the wealthy
During Clinton administration, the government fvcked the middle/working class, did everything he could for the poor
During Bush administration, the government fvcked the middle/working class, did everything he could for the wealthy
During Obama administration, the government fvcked the middle/working class, did everything he could for the poor

The government has been shitting all over the people since the 60s or 70s.... Things arent going to change until republicans and democrats are thrown out.

hundreds of thousands migrate legally, but, millions want to ... of the millions that are here illegally ... most of them are hard workers who keep a low profile ... If they had a legal means to come here, they would have taken it ...

And if I had a legal way to buy a car to get to work I would have. But I didnt, so I stole it. Therefore, I should get amnesty from all charges.

In regards to what? Nothing has really changed for him. This is one of thousands of lawsuits, none of which have come to fruition...how is one lawsuit more than he can chew?

Sherrif Joe has been sued THOUSANDS of times in the last 5 years and not ONE case has come to fruition. This isnt his first go around with this, and really isnt anything new, other than this being a federal case.

/yawn
How many times has he settled a case against him?

Are you talking about the same statue of Liberty where Johnson went to sign the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Immigration_and_Nationality_Act_of_1965

Immigration reform was an important issue for the Irish community, including President John F Kennedy. For Kennedy's administration, immigration fell under the jurisdiction of second brother, U.S. Attorney General Robert Kennedy. And when third brother Ted Kennedy was elected to the U.S. Senate in 1962, his first assignment was to shepherd the bill through the Senate as Floor Leader for the bill. During debate on the Senate floor, Kennedy, speaking of the effects of the act, said: "First, our cities will not be flooded with a million immigrants annually. Under the proposed bill, the present level of immigration remains substantially the same.... Secondly, the ethnic mix of this country will not be upset.... Contrary to the charges in some quarters, [the bill] will not inundate America with immigrants from any one country or area, or the most populated and deprived nations of Africa and Asia.... In the final analysis, the ethnic pattern of immigration under the proposed measure is not expected to change as sharply as the critics seem to think.... It will not cause American workers to lose their jobs

What a load of crap.

If you stole a car, somebody is missing a car. There is obviously a victim. You are punished for that, because you've created a victim through your actions. It's hurt another person.

If somebody hops the border, they aren't stealing something from another person. They are not creating a victim. They are escaping from unbearable oppression and not hurting anybody.

People that blame illegal immigrants for problems are generally wrong.

We do need immigration reform, that much we agree on. With regard to the statement on the statue of liberty, it also doesn't say "feel free to ignore our laws and procedures and just come on in any way you want". We have a process for allowing people in legally - no matter how flawed. People who break the laws are criminals and should be treated like criminals.

Uh, what about social services you require? Medical care? Education? Etc? Who pays for that? Oh yeah, the taxpayer. In other words, by coming here illegally you've created a victim, you stole money from all the taxpayers.

How many of those "thousands of lawsuits" have resulted in a Federal Indictment?

Time for Joe to pay the piper.

Oh please. As the lawyers say, you could indict a ham sandwich if you wanted.

This is just another big political misstep by this administration. Going after those who support our laws in favor of those who don't. There's a reason sheriff Joe is incredibly popular.

*Claps*

I work in bill collections. There are plenty of "Maria's" with no SS# that never pay a cent to their medical bills. Who gets to pay for it? *looks around* They don't, that's for sure. We score these accounts, and Maria is at the bottom of the list. Our company doesn't even attempt to dial these people, as it's a waste of time and resources.

Anybody who defends illegal immigration is an enemy of the state in my opinion.

Ive found 4. But none relating directly to him, and none regarding illegal immigration issues. They were suits brought against Maricopa County in regards to the jail and guards.

I don't disagree with you, but do you consider legal citizens that utilize those same services without "paying for them" stealing?

I have not been happy with how the government has been heading the last 12 years.

it continues to act in a way that is not how the US should be acting.

So you think everyone should have the same rights to these services. Are you telling me that the Mexicans who sneak across our border in the middle of the night should have the same rights as some poor slob who got in a car accident on his way to work or someone who otherwise became diabled through no fault oif his own and now can no longer work?

The more illegals we have, the harder they make it for everyone, except themselves. That's why I don't give a crap about them, they obviously don't give a crap about us and turn about is fair play in my book.

The Feds never went after Sheriff Harry:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harry_Lee_(sheriff)
Lee was accused of trying to separate the races by issuing an order erecting a barricade on a street at the line dividing majority-black New Orleans and majority-white East Jefferson.

....

When an 8-year-old girl was raped in March 1998, the police initially described two black males as the culprits. Lee was criticized for declaring every black man in the subdivision a suspect.

....

"I'm going to catch that bastard, and when I catch him, he is going to be black," he said. "I just don't give a damn what people think of me anymore. If that was their daughter and we weren't doing that, they would be on our ass."

....

Lee made the following statement, which either almost ended or saved his career:
"If there are some young blacks driving a car late at night in a predominantly white neighborhood, they will be stopped. There's a pretty good chance they're up to no good. It's obvious two young blacks driving a rinky-dink car in a predominantly white neighborhood—I'm not talking about on the main thoroughfare, but if they're on one of the side streets and they're cruising around—they'll be stopped."

But, he was loved:
In 1994, a survey for The Times-Picayune showed that 84% of Jefferson Parish residents had a favorable impression of the sheriff, including 91% of whites.

How about this? Joe's department is suspected of breaking some laws.

Government asks Joe to provide records.

Joe refuses for 15 months.

Government sues Joe for not providing records.

Who's breaking the law?
