I don't know how to respond to this rant...

Legalization absolutely needs to happen as there is no reason for it not to. ...but I also agree that when one state legalizes it, this is what you see: isolated pockets of riff raff.

If it takes baby steps, fine--but the only way to make it right is to just kick the evil government out of your house (something OP seems to want? the government up in his business? weird...) and legalize it across the country.

It's a fine substance--completely harmless compared to alcohol and far safer than nicotine sticks, class 1 is a fucking joke to anyone with common sense--but because of this history, when you have tiny pockets of legalization, you concentrate the scummery of the world.

I'm against legalization of marijuana. The majority of us have survived and live full lives without having to have a drug in our system. Why is there a need to legalize this drug just so potheads can legally light up? Keep it illegal and prosecute those who use it. There's no need for it, outside of medical usage and you should be able to legally use it for medical need like any registered drug.

I'm going to assume that you also abstain from alcohol as clearly there is no need for it. I mean, I don't even know why it's legal, right? And don't get me started on nicotine-containing products! We should prosecute all users of these drugs!

There's no need for any intoxicant. Does that make it right to prohibit its use? Some civilized countries are catching on to the idea that making all drugs legal is the way to go, and instead of spending a ton of money prosecuting the users who get themselves into trouble, they instead attempt to use therapy and treatment programs - which, in the end, is also cheaper. Oh, and it's just a more humane approach to life.

Drugs aren't bad, but the vicious circle of prosecution is only breeding further problems in low income areas because the children are then exposed to the realities that it produces, and are raised poorly due to that fact. Instead, if they aren't a menace to society and are not hurting themselves and/or neglecting their children... why take them away? If they demonstrate a lack of control, perhaps mandatory treatment will help them live a better life, and after a few generations, I guarantee inner city violence would plummet.

Eff that. I don't smoke either, but people want to do it. I'd rather they get it from legal, tax paying businesses than drug cartels.

I'm not about to support outlawing something because I don't think anyone "needs" it either. People have all kinds of things they don't technically "need". For one thing, who am I to tell them what they "need"? I don't care a bit about all kinds of bullshit that people like to do for recreation. From my perspective, nobody needs any of it because I don't need it. As the shining example of humanity that I am, if everyone were to do exactly what I do they'd all be perfect citizens, right? Wrong. People are different, and they want to do different things for fun. In a free country people get to do things because they want to do them, not because those things fall within a set of activities that are classified as "needs".

The only thing we need ask ourselves about allowing them to do it is "Does it hurt anyone but them?" and "If it hurts them, how much?". Clearly we allow people to do things that hurt themselves up to a limit, a very high limit in some cases. I believe that any negative effects of marijuana fall well within that limit. In the interest of forming a rational and internally consistent set of laws, we HAVE to legalize marijuana use.

Your argument is to make something illegal simply because there is no need to do it? You don't even suggest that the current reasons are legitimate; which leads me to think that you agree that the harm--both physical, personal, and to society is just trumped-up horseshit. So you just want to make it illegal because there is no need for it.

Well, there is no need for anything beyond food (and I mean simple grains, maybe some protein like chicken meat and eggs, how about some lettuce? OK! every food item but sorgum, chickens, and lettuce is now banned!), water, and sex.

Everything else in life: illegal!

Welcome to your new world order, comrade.

So like, like, totally there is this thing called the "end times" What would Jesus do? Sit there and not fight? Personally, I want Satan's head on a plague in my house in heaven if that's possible.

Satan is classified as an angel, but I would not rank him with that title. He's more like a demon now.

Got any problems in the family, etc? Thank Satan.

My 2cents...

holy fuckballs johnny, you're stupidity has no limits. It's no wonder you revere ben carson and trumplestiltskin
