I grew up in CA and have been all over the country. The Southeast was among the best places to live.

In fact, in my experience the only people who bleat bullsh!t like yours are people who have never spent any time in the South and speak from a position of ignorance.

i was stationed in the south and it sucks, never ever want to go back there, people are just plain dumb and slow.

Yeah, all of us southerners are dumb, we can't say a damned thing. The south isn't slow, it's relaxed. Kind of like California, but with a work ethic. You make a silly statement for someone that does not capitalize. 🙂

heaven forbid i dont capitalize, i never said you have no work ethic, i just stated things are slower down there which isnt my preference. A lot of stupid people down there as well just as opinionated as some northerners. Sorry i made the generalization of "dumb" what i really meant was opinionated like a lot of northerners.

The south is just as bad as the north, but it isn't what you are used to. The slow thing bothers me too when I'm farther south, but I don't have to worry about it where I am.

The south is fvcking retarded. Ignorance is an epidemic in the south. There are still fools in the north but IMO, the north isn't nearly as backwards as the south or more specifically, southern rural areas. This is how I feel about the south. I don't hate southerners, I hate their ignorance and their apparent refusal to open their eyes to logic.

Having grown up in the south and returning many times, I can honestly say that I feel sorry for the ignorance that is rampant in the south. I hope the south can learn how to effectively use logic and rational expression. And if more than 1 out of 100 southerners learn what propaganda is, it will be a great day in America. Manipulating southerners is like stealing candy from a baby. 😉

And before some rabid Confederate jumps on me, there are exceptions to every generalization I made above. And it's based on my experienes growing up in Arkansas. Guess what? It's anecdotal evidence, so go fvck yourself.

you guys realize the red states would starve without the blue states? except for texas, of course. they've got enough oil to last 'em for a while. but seriously, if you take away the auto industry and tech industy, which blue owns, plus pretty much the entire industrial, financial, entertainment, and clothing industries (minus fvcking nashville), all you're left with is oil (we can buy it from a bajillion other sources and already do) and agriculture (same, PLUS that actually costs us tax money now and wouldn't if we told you to take a hike).

so maybe the red states should think a little harder before biting the hands that feed them.

BooHoo, we wouldn't be able to see any more Hollywood movies...big deal most of Hollywood movies get produced in Canada and North Carolina anyways...Apparently you forgot about a rather large Honda plant in Tennessee near FedEx...IBM has a sizable presence in Texas and NC; TI, Dell and AMD in Texas, Intel in Phoenix and the largest bank in the United States(BofA) is headquartered out of Charlotte, NC(We could move Wall street there). Atlanta would hold the communication hub as well....Cox Communications is there...ohh yeah, UPS is based out of Atlanta as well. So both FedEx and UPS are all in Red States. So are Home Depot and Lowes....remind me again why we need the North? Not to mention there is not a single refinery anywhere near the Blue states

So your last paragraph is telling us that the first two paragraphs may or may not be true? Why write them?

LOFL. Do you mean that? Or, if it doesn't agree with a point later on, will you just change its meaning and make petty attacks to distract from your backpeddling? You're not making a valid arguement, so quit trying. The reason I am so defensive is because you called an entire state backwards based upon the fact that you've lived in three states. I like the state and I'm sorry you don't.
If you reread my posts you will see that I said I like both the north and the south. By saying that it's backwards I'm not implying that I don't like it. Way to draw false conclusions.

Do I mean what? That not all statements are absolute. Of course I mean that. If you can't understand that then I don't know what to say. Are you the type of person who would call someone a "flipflopper"?

I've lived in more than three states, and two countries. I have a good basis in which to judge south carolina against the rest of the areas I've lived in/spent time in.
I liked SC a lot, and would consider living there again. Regardless if I liked it or not the legislation, education, and populace is not near as progressive as the north. If you see it becoming more progressive it's because people are relocating from other areas to SC and imposing their will upon the system in which they participate.

Gurck: sometimes you're so dumb it's not even fun to pick on you.
I mean in terms of culture and beliefs... not plumbing.
Gee, really? Isn't that the topic of the thead? Way to come full circle.

OK whose the bigot here?

I'd like to see him spew that crap in person or at a nascar race. Man there be a lynching for sure.

News at 10 man commits suicide at Nascar event calling southerns names. the 8 car drags his bloody body around on a victory lap showing off his new "W" is for Winner sticker.

I laughed though it was so warped.

the point isn't that you don't get to see the movies, smart guy. the point is a blue state gets your money when you see one. and "most" movies aren't produced in canada or NC, but *some* are shot there, which provides temporary jobs but no ultimate profits. you may have one honda plant (also providing jobs but no profits) but we have a toyota plant... and we have ford, daimerchrysler, and GM, all of whose PROFITS end up in blue states as well as their jobs. we also have the R&D for both Toyota and Honda in Southern California. And while the tech companies you mention may have "presence" in red states, with the exception of Dell, they are all based in blue states. That means blue states take the profits. We've also got yahoo, google, ebay, Maxtor, Microsoft, HP, Cisco, Oracle, blah blah blah. And Starbucks, and most of the big publishing companies, etc, etc.

BTW, you forgot about Walmart, reds have Walmart. see? i have to help you out with your own argument.

When I said you didn't like it, I was using this:

"SC is backwards and represents the epitome of the south. "

I took that as being critical. Why would you want to live in a state that you considered "backwards?"

And no. While SC does welcome people and companies from everywhere, we have made progress with leadership that was native to SC. We don't live in a hole by any means, but our government is comprised of people from the area. So your statement that our progress can't come from our own state is pigheaded and absurd.

We pull in many national and international companies based predominantly on our quality of life and low cost of living. NC has similar experiences, and has made progress even more than we have.

btw, even if that WAS what i meant, which it wasn't, would you like to explain to me how well other agriculture-based countries have been doing in the ol' success department? what's that? they're all living in shacks? and starving to death? forced to turn to drug trafficing just to get by? fancy that.

see, that's what happens when you actually reason instead of just flying the reason flag. and that's how you actually own someone, instead of just saying you did.

Like Strom? He was a great guy. He really fought for the civil liberties of the negro.

Again, you are taking everything from a absolutist stance, and in the real world it doesn't work like that.
I don't agree with all the legislation that NY passes, does that mean I shouldn't live there? No. My own state/country/whatever would have to be formed in order for me to agree with all of the politics that occur within. I don't make my lifestyle choices based upon the legislation of the area.

SC is at the bottom of the progressive govt. pile. I'm sure they could fight with louisiana, missouri or mississippi for that bottom spot. It is a "good ole boys" state, and I'm not sure why you are trying to deny that.
