Well im sure there will be a card, but to the AMD faithful, no official announcment=no card. Hypocritical of course considering the first rumour of a 7970 means its real, but relatively understandable.
I don't care what team you bat for but let me make it simple.
I'm jaded about the release of a duel GPU card from Nvidia for several reasons. Green loyalists told us there would be a GTX 49x and that didn't happen. Then there were all the so called pictures of custom cards that never happened. Then the leaked image of that GTX 460x2 from eVGA that people swore was the 59x. I've never said a official duel GPU card from Nvidia wouldn't happen, just that until a real official announcement is made or we're surprised with a launch I won't hold my breath.
With AMD is has nothing to do with rumors. AMD actually announces their card models and they have released duel GPU cards for the last few generations going back to at least the 3000 series. So unless AMD suddenly moves away from their small die strategy a HD 7900 duel GPU card is pretty much assured.
