So the NVidia GTX-590 is CONFIRMED for release on March 22nd, 2011!

Hello xxxxxx,

We are contacting you today with your recent RFI regarding info for the GTX590's GPU that will soon be released. Earlier in the week we have had a meeting with NVIDIA and it's partners regarding the status updates and further information on the GTX590 video card. We received both verbal and written forms of documentation from NVIDIA stating that March 22, 2011 is the official planned release date for this product. The product is expected to be announced prior to this date and will begin preliminary as of March 22nd. We are also confirming once again (based on our documentation) that EVGA and ASUS will be the primary partners releasing the product to retail. It is not known if there will be more partners later but NVIDIA has stated to us that they are having talks with more partners about this product. This is all the information we are allowed to release so far. We plan to have one more meeting with NVIDIA prior to release date and if anything new comes up we will be sure to contact you. You are given the go ahead to feel free posting this within your forum's community. As always please keep our contact information confidential.

Sincerely,
xxx xxxxxxxxxx
Project Manager of xxxxxx xxxx

The above was taken from a post on Overclock[dot]net and the thread about the info on the card (from a guy who seems to be under NDA at this point with NVidia) is here: http://www.overclock.net/hardware-news/961146-exp-nvidia-confirms-gtx590-march-22nd.html

GTX-590 SLI vs. 6990 CrossFire! BRING IT! :D

This is not confirmation. This is expreview purporting to have confirmation.

You are allowed to create threads to discuss rumor, you are not allowed to title such threads as "confirmed" unless you can link to Nvidia's website to a press announcement of it being released/announced/confirmed/etc.

I am editing the thread title, in the future I expect you to manage this yourself if and when you make such threads. Making threads is a priviledge, not a right.

Original Thread Title: "NVidia GTX-590 CONFIRMED for March 22nd, 2011!"

New Thread Title: "EXPreview: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 590 To Roll Out On March 22nd"

If you throw enough scat on the wall, some of it is bound to stick.

Enjoy your dual-570 board. :D

Most people were debating weather the 590 will be 2 580's or 570s/60s, not weather it will be released or not.

The card was confirmed a forceware driver's code, along with the gts 550, 2 months ago.

I'll see what I can dig up......

by the looks of the xxxx's its under 1000$

"The US pricing will be set at $xxx.xx and HK will launch at a retail price of $xxx.xx. These prices are very competitive with AMD's HD6990 pricing stated at $700.00 so NVIDIA was definitely interested in minimizing costs, hence the recent withdrawal from MSI. So far this is the only update we are allowed to release"

And the NDA must have been the 14th...........and launch on the 22nd.

"We received both verbal and written forms of documentation from NVIDIA stating that March 22, 2011 is the official planned release date for this product. The product is expected to be announced prior to this date and will begin preliminary as of March 22nd."

SO he was right but just didn't tell me the launch date.

I dont think its gonna be that high,, your in luck!

"The only thing I am allowed to say regarding pricing is that NVIDIA is interested in pricing it to work best for the consumers and comparative with the offerings of its competition. The only personal note I can add is that many of you will be quite surprised. Take that as you may but that is all I can say at this time. "

That settles that! Sounds like 799$ or less.

This has to be better than the AMD 6990 or it's DOA, and by better I mean sporting dual GTX 580s.

Damn this raises more questions than it answers!!! Eagerly awaiting March 22nd :D .

Where did you get that info !?
799$ + Dual GTX 580s? AMD 6990 is gonna get smashed and I assume they are going to drop the price on GTX 580s?

I could def live with 799 or even 850. I'll be buying 2 if its 799.00

I think it'll be close because of the 590's 600 core clocks but hello overclocking.

It has $1000 worth of hardware on it. So what would you think the price would be?

Nvidia is making it to compete with Amd. Pricing it at 1000 dollars is 200 dollars too high.

GTX 580 price cut to 399.00? :D

Better have a triple slot-cooler or a heat-sink made by Hephaestus himself because the AMD 6990 has trouble keeping temperature and noise down so a dual GTX 580s is going to be one heck of a configuration to cool on a single card.

Water-cooling is always there I guess but that's not viable for everyone - then again if you spend 700$+ on a graphics card i would assume the sky is the limit for these folks.

2x GTX580s are prime candidates for 2560x1600 or more. The problem is GF100/110 architecture is severely handicapped in both RAM (only 1.5GB/GPU) and texture fill-rate departments compared to AMD. As a result, the 15-20% advantage that a single GTX580 has over a single HD6970 at 1920x1200 8AA is all but eroded to a measly 5% by the time you get to 2560x1600 8AA. Therefore, even if GTX590 ships with 2 full fledged GTX580 cores, it will still fall flat on its face compared to 2 unlocked HD6950s which only cost $520. Unless these cards have incredible overclocking headroom, what is the point exactly?

This round of dual-GPUs is just a marketing exercise / profit margin milking and nothing more.

LOL @ posting nothing but guesses, then trying to get others to believe the individual is under NDA. There is noone in this thread under NDA.

Yes, the card has been confirmed. :)

But is there any "concrete" evidence what GPU's will be used on this ?

:thumbsup::thumbsup:

That's one of the heat sinks that's going to be a very good match with a GTX 590.

I am looking through reviews really quick to see how much heat 6990 dissipates compared to a 6970 in crossfire.

I think I know why they waited for the 22nd.
It's gonna be sold with a free copy of Crysis 2, I bet!
Crysis 2 is released on the 22nd.

They didn't give Cryteck 2 million for nothing. :)

If you plan on buying this card , cancel your pre ordered Crysis 2.

I wonder if you can sli a gtx590 with a 580?
I guess you could?
