eVGA GeForce 7900 GTO 512MB - $255 shipped from ChiefValue

mwave just jacked the price up to $259.90 + shipping.

I had one in my cart at 249 already though 🙂

I'll just wait. If prices go back to $250 shipped, great - I'll buy one. If not, I can wait.

Yeah, I mean, the 249.99 is probably the MSRP, or at least the standard rate. Once everything stabilizes they will probably fall to that price or even a few dollars lower. But the best thing about the G80 will probably be the effect it has on the rest of the lineup.

Your order has been shipped out on 2006-09-29 by FEDEX-EXPRESS SAVER and the
tracking number is XXX

NOW THATS FAST PROCESSING!

zipzoomfly sucks i should have ordered from mwave, i ordered the moment the deal was posted and im still "packed". WTF!!!

Thanks for the post and for the link to mwave. I ordered from mwave today and it has already shipped.

I am now concerned about the warranty. The add on zipzoomfly states that it only has a 2-year warranty. I always thought that all eVGA cards had a lifetime warranty.
I called eVGA and was told that it was correct (only 2 years). I have sent an email to them to get it in the written form.

Don't worry.
You will be ahead of us who ordered from mwave if you decide to go for step-up.

In 2 years it will be ready for the trash anyway! 😉

You may be right. However, I have been recommending eVGA and one of my reasons was their lifetime warranty. It is important for me to know if that is not a valid reason anymore!

that's a real shocker, to hear that eVGA only warrants this card for two years. And it's doubly baffling that eVGA reps would vouch for that skimpy warranty over the phone, when their website explicity states the card has a lifetime warranty:
  • "Lifetime Warranty is for all retail Graphics Card and Mainboard products ending in the part numbers AR, AX, BR*, BX*, DR, DX, FR, FX, SG, SL, or S2."

obviously someone at eVGA is an idiot. That product page and model number clearly show the card has a lifetime warranty upon registration.

Thanks you for restoring my confidence it eVGA again.
He obviously was not experienced and I doubted him and that is why I sent them an email.
Thanks!

I can't justify getting this card now. Can I? Would I be better off waiting for the 7900GT's to drop some more and go with SLI over this card?

Someone talk me off the ledge.

Haha, im actually in the EXACT same situation(only I had an xfx 7800gt) I just recently sold it on ebay and ended making about 5 dollars for the upgrade to the BFG 7900 and im not entirely sure it would be worth all the hassle to go through it all again and sell the GT for the GTO. I know I would probably end up selling the GTO once the good DX 10 cards come out, at least depending on how reasonably priced they are, ahh tough decisions 😕

Damn, I'm still wavering on my fence. I'll think to myself, "nah, can get by without this." Later, "hmmm, would be really nice to have." Then, "well, new GPUs are coming out." Now, "but this is such a great deal."

I hope your French better than mine but picts tell the story

Heck. Just pulled trigger. This one will unseat the aging 7800gt in my Dell.

at first I was planning on a x1900xt 256mb, but this card splits the benches with it and is 15dba softer in 3d. I wish they had some cooling comparisons on that french site.

Damn you people. I grabbed one. Used the $10 mwave survey coupon from the Opty 146 order, so it was $260 shipped via fedex. Not bad. Hopefully it is not on back order.
