eVGA GeForce 7900 GTO 512MB - $255 shipped from ChiefValue

MSI shows the card on their German site (and Japanese one too), but they don't show it on the global or U.S.A. site. MSI specs include a GDDR3 rating of 1.1ns. I know there's plenty of speculation about the eVGA model having 1.2ns RAM, (one forum post even suggested it was 1.4ns), but the only observation I've read by someone who actually had the card in his hand--at that ExtremeOverclocking forum that I linked to earlier--said the eVGA's RAM is definitely 1.1ns--an observation that belies eVGA's own spec sheet. Guess a lot of us will know what the truth is soon enough.

Right now it's listed at NCIX in Canada, but as of last night they didn't have it in stock yet. I linked to it in a previous post.

I'd like to note that a few months ago, MSI was selling 'X1800XL 512mb' cards for ~$200 that were exactly the same as the X1800XT 512's that were going for ~$350 at the time. I personally purchased one, with stock clocks of 500/500, and with an arctic accelero x2, have mine running stable at 729/810.

Personally, I have no problem believing that these cards are simply re-labelled 7900GTX 512's, as many benches seem to indicate.

I advise CANDIANS to check out the EVGA MIR for $30 CAD for items purchased from NCIX. The rebate is only valid in Canada.

That special edition was from EVGA. Think Im going to replace it with this one🙂

Tempted to bite on this deal, but I already have a X1900XT 512MB on the way as I'm getting ready for BF2142.

many thanks for the mwave link and add to cart trick. ordered two for that build I just got quoted out and authorized.

It just came back in stock at ZZF, though it's $10 higher.
So the huge influx of orders last night probably had them only re-evaluating their selling price when they put it on "backorder." Just as Newegg did a few nights ago when 2 gig kits of Patriot PC2-5300 were selling blindingly fast at $182. Suddenly those went OOS, then reappeared at $270!

Yes, I was pretty upset with Newegg for doing that the other day. I was all set to order that RAM until that price jump happened. At least this wasn't a big increase.

To put in a good word for ZZF: I ordered a 7900GT from them eariler this week so I called to ask about an exchange and they said that they would waive the restock fee. Pretty nice of them

When did you exactly order yours from mwave, and which shipping method did you choose?
ZZF is not quite as fast as N/E when comes shipping, IMO but ZZF is still cool, price wise.😉

what are the chances the new DX 10 cards will be out before my trade in timer ends if I order the card now? 50/50?

Here are some G80 "spy pics" posted at Hard|OCP today. Geesh, 300 WATTS?

I'm in for one. I went with ZZF, even at $15 more. I figure that will all count towards a Step Up. Now I just have to hope the G80's make it out by the end of the year.

Good choice!
That's what I had in mind and I've been stepping up since the 7800 days.
A small future proof..but I think we'd all be in the sticker price shock when comes G80 series cards.
