yea i know, that's why i never magazine race, that's the official number from dodge for the insurance rates and that's why when you dyno the car, they get the same numbers that they listed as official because it's underrated from the factory. they always get stuff wrong, like they say a 1/4mile is this time and you know you've run faster or slower, or a certain car is faster of slower, i never trust magazine racing. just something to get a baseline from

"The tires, gearing, and torque curve are good for 160," notes development engineer Stephan Zweidler. "Conscious of our buyers' youthful exuberance, we shut it down early."

Damn development engineers lying and all. BTW, in the reviews I read...the speedo goes to 160mph...so, how exactly did you quantify going 167?

I see the top reading as 160mph...

No you didn't.

I got to 97 mph in my 2001 Chevy 2500 HD Pickup, on 290 one rainy night a few months ago. The speedometer says 100mph, but the governer kicks in around 97 or 98mph.

I hope you didn't pay much for it, because Superchips doesn't have the best reputation.

Maybe, but it is still the best choice for the Hemi motor.

Nice.

We should gather all the ATOT'ers with cars capable of over 140mph and rent a airstrip or something...

😉
That would be fun. So far from the replies in the thread, I think I could take everyone so far, as I have about 100 hp on everyone.

Hehe, count me in too

A solid 140 in my 2000 Camry V6 (limiter at 137, + slightly larger wheels/tire combo). Scary, even in a straight line, with that overboosted steering...

I haven't tried since i had the ECU remapped, but before this fuel cutoff kicks on at 6800rpm-in 5th gear it's 161-which is easy to hit.

What kind of car do you have, and how much HP does it have?

How do you figure you have 100hp on everyone? What do ya got? 🙂

I have a little over 400 hp. I have a lightly modded 300ZX TT.

I drive a stock 2005 Dodge Ram Hemi, which has 345hp.

Ummm..you realize 345HP in a full size truck is nothing compared to 400HP in a twin turbo sports car right?

My Cavalier is limited to 108 and I've hit it a fair number of times. I have pics of a Cavalier wreck where the kid had the governer disabled (easy on any GM car that has one). Official speed when he ran off the road was 125-135mph. I'd say it was probably 125-ish, but still, not bad for a 140hp.

you do realize he was bragging solely about horsepower. Horsepower is the same, no matter what vehicle it is.

not a problem. he's probably using some sort of multiplier in his horsepower equation anyhow, like adding 50hp for each RT badge he's got on his fender. 😉
