Or maybe we should evacuate people with busses and trains, not individual cars. I've known multiple people in Houston that have evaced, with each person taking a separate car, then bitched about traffic.
The 3.5 hour / 224 mile drive to San Antonio from Houston was 14 hours long during the Hurricane Rita evacuation. The 4 hour / 266 mile drive to Dallas took 40 hours. Rita happened 3 weeks after Katrina and 2 million people in the Houston area tried to evacuate. Nowhere near enough busses for that.

When Hurricane Ike came through 3 years later it was a 7 hour trip to Dallas because nobody who lived through the Rita evacuation wanted to go through it again unless absolutely necessary.

Yeah, Rita is the one that I knew many people that took every car they had individually. Because in Texas getting your car to safety is more important than your neighbors getting to safety.

Probably not enough buses for 2 million people, but enough buses to put a big dent in it if they it was actually organized and people would actually take them. Between school buses, charter buses, and greyhounds. Plus flights. Really, in an evac like that, you should get a massive fine if your vehicle is less than 75% full.

ETA: Tiny picture, but it doesn't appear like there is a single bus in that photo.

Musk is going to sue the ADL.

I mean the guy literally launched X by reinstating the world's most famous current Nazi, Kanye, and unbanned every Nazi he could as well.

Musk is just total scum. I really hope that piece of shit gets knocked off his pedestal and eats dirt. He deserves it as much as Trump or any of the GQP.

Oh, the irony.

Anyone who renames their company X pretty much explains the loss in revenue. You can't sue your way out of being a jerk, however being the jerk that he is no doubt he will try. I wonder if Mr X is aware that it costs money to sue other people? Being he's so upset about losing money and all...

If these people are really so wealthy, people like Musk and Trump, if they are really that rich you'd think they would cut their losses, take their money, and just go away. The longer stupid stays around the more it will cost stupid to be stupid, and obviously stupid Mr X does not like to lose money. Neither does Trump, but Trump simply stiffs his creditors.

He’s not worried about legal fees - the point is to intimidate people into not criticizing him/Twitter.

He has zero chance of success in the lawsuit and it’s probably just more bullshit from him though.

Musk is far more devoted to being a huge piece of shit and acting in any way that pleases him (unethically, immorally, illegally, etc) than he's worried about billable hours.

Devoted piece of shit. Great way to describe Musk. And pretty much the majority of the GQP party. These people are devoted pieces of shit, most are not reachable.

Know your enemy.

We need to blame Elon for cutting prices? If you are an early adapter you have to assume prices will drop as supply goes up.

I agree he lied through his teeth about the robotaxi crap.
And those lies are arguably the only reason why Tesla avoided bankruptcy in 2018.
Why should we overlook that when Musk can't stop lying to this day?

Its quite obvious that Elmo is way way way overdue for his readjustment ass whooping. Its really too bad he had clarity enough to pull out of the Zuck fight, I firmly believe his mental health depends on getting his bell rung.

I'm pro-free speech and anti-semitism, says the guy who banned all controversial speech except for racist and anti-semitic speech from his social media platform.

I am so freeze peach, that I'm removing the ability to block other people! And if you complain about it, I'll just block you. Ain't no one got time to hear your whining and complaining.

And I saw a youtube clip about people being restricted to charge their cars at home only during certain time periods at night to avoid overloading the power grid. And then there was this discussion going on about what will happen to these EV owners during a hurricane when electricity isn't exactly flowing at peak capacity and they have to evacuate with their lowly charged EVs. Gasoline cars owners will feel blessed then.

He should be held accountable for his lies. But that doesn't mean he is an asshole for dropping prices.

I think Tesla should have to refund everyone that bought FSD, pay punitive damages, and likely face SEC sanctions.

However, dropping prices on cars is a good thing.

So transparently wounded by a wife/gf(?) that left him for another woman, and a child that disowned him for ... other reasons. All bundled together with some learned racism from early childhood. Perfect combo.

Not exactly a difficult diagnosis ...
Wife who left him for a trans woman and a child who was trans who disowned him. When you have emotional maturity of a 13 year old it’s not surprising he’s publicly and violently swung hard right. (Was likely privately hard right before this mess but family and business probably tempered it somewhat)

OP’s thread title is still surprisingly accurate—Elon’s X may only be worth about 9.2% of what he paid for it—nevermind previous market cap.

Ok ok I exaggerated…Twitter is still worth 10% of what he paid for it last year—not quite down to 9.2%…yet.

#ApartheidJack ... noted foreign policy and military expert:

Elon ordered starlink turned off
The DOD should either nationalize star link, or ban it from DOD use. Besides the fact that he purposely disrupted a mission, he obviously also knew a mission was occuring, likely from watching the data. There are just massive opsspec issues with this system and Elon Musk.
