I have only purchased digital copies from GMG and no issues whatsoever. Physical copies just waste space nowadays IMO.

Well whatever I downloaded last night is downloading something large at 23GBs. I moved my installed onto my second SSD and it fired off this update. Coming down about 7MB\sec

I'll be there, Sunday midday, spamming that Log in button and cursing at the stupid game for giving errors/long ass log in queues and moaning about how badly prepared ESO were for launch and if they cannot even handle the early access how will they ever cope with actual release. I will also share my bitching with everyone via forums - I think it is important to uphold MMO release traditions :)

WHICH OF YOU

is jumping in on day one?

I've purchased through gmg, and already patched up the beta client (although I'm sure it will need patching again closer to the start).

So, I'll be starting in whatever early access people who bought through gmg get (5 day, or 3 day I guess?)

Depends what you bought.

If you buy directly from ESO:
Imperial Edition & Standard Edition = 5 day early access (So this Sunday)

If you buy elsewhere (including GMG I believe):
Imperial Edition = 5 day early access (Sunday)
Standard Edition = 3 day early access (Tuesday)

I went to look at the website today to see if any new info up, and .... "you are in the queue to visit the website, estimated time of entering 5 minutes".

This does not bode well for launch, if the website can't even handle traffic. :hmm:

Oh, thanks. Think I bought the imperial edition, so sunday. I should probably double check that though, heh.

Zin, are you going to be playing this? I had a good time playing with you in Guild Wars 2. I'll probably start as an imperial 2H, since I never really play melee characters, and want to try something new.

My great aunt's in the hospital now though, and probably going to a nursing home for rehab, so I won't have the hours to play like I did in GW2, at least in the beginning.

nah, I doubt it. I don't really like MMOs anyway--I only like the GW games because they are quite a bit different in mechanics, despite whatever faults. I did like Star Wars ToR, up to a point, but I know enough of that to know how I feel about those type of MMO in general.

Time as well, and subs which I will not pay :\

I might give it a whirl when it hits F2P, but I really just want a new ES game, whenever that happens.

After saying i wasn't going to purchase ESO i ended up buying it from GMG, registered the code and received an email from ESO stating i'm all registered for the explorer's pack and am all set for 5 days early access

I'm going to have two "main characters" to start with, one I will play duo with a friend and one will be my solo character.

The "duo" character will be a Dragon Knight that focuses on the buffs the class offers and uses the Restoration Staff for healing, and then either the Bow for ranged support or Sword and Shield for better survival (depending on which is needed). I'm considering bow since it'll use Stamina while my main skills are so Magicka dependent. I think for crafting it will be a woodworker main and then dabble in alchemy. He's going to be a tank-focused Templar, so we'll easily be able to find group content.

My solo main character will be a Nightblade that focuses on the siphoning tree and will use bow and dual wielding. I want to play this character "solo" since I'll want to be sneaking up a lot and that'd be more difficult with my partner. I think that's going to be his "solo" character as well so maybe we'll hop over to these for PVP or harder content every once in a while too :)

What about you guys? Any thoughts on what you're thinking of playing yet? I haven't dug too much into skill points and min/maxing; I'm really just looking forward to taking my time.

I almost always play a healer or high dps rogue/wizard type, so this time I'm going to try a straight up melee tank/dps.

Imperial Dragon Knight with 2H and 1H and shield, mainly using Earthen Heart and Draconic Power for dmg, dmg mitigation, and leaps/charges to close the distance in PVP. For crafting, smithing is a no-brainer for this setup, and for faction I'm leaning toward the Dominion so far.

After that, or if it doesn't work well, I think I'd like to try a magic/bow combination.

You know, since I didn't play any of the betas for very long each, and i haven't really looked up any data, I'm still not real sure how the leveling system, or skill system works. There were things that I sort of noticed while playing, but I'm still at the noob stage.

Heh, I'm wondering just how much of a failure my first character will turn out to be, as I try and figure the game out :hmm:
