Bows are just too good, especially from stealth; even not playing a Bosmer, I've watched a lot of PVP where that first hit takes off 1/4-1/5th of life, and ranged itself is just too useful to go full melee.

Really? That first strike doesn't make up for the bow feeling weak in regular combat. Or maybe I was just doing it wrong. *shrugs* One reason I'm not ordering ESO is that the bow's always been my favorite ES weapon, and it just doesn't feel right in ESO (plus, it felt really underpowered). During the beta, I think about half the time I ambushed a lone someone with a sneak bow attack, I ended up being the one dying because the other guy has better healing than me or better attacks in general. Though there was one time when we ended up killing each other at the exact same time--that was hilarious, because on my death screen, a message popped up telling me that I've avenged my own death (and I earned an achievement for that, too!). :D

Is the game live? I keep getting "Your Login information was incorrect" even though I used the correct pw - even changed it and tried again.

Yes, it's live for those with early access. Went live earlier than 7 am as I was logged in about 6:45 and my friend was earlier than me.

Pulled the trigger and bought the Imperial Edition from GMG this morning. For those of you wondering, coupon code PLOCVS-G2T5YX-DATY6M still works and knocks 20% off the price at Green Man Gaming. That coupon no longer seems to work at GameFly, however.

I was just able to purchase the game with the code so it's still working.

Just spent the last hour creating four characters to cover each class.

So far no issues. Now time to actually try this game out.

I was getting that message before the servers opened up... maybe you have 3 day early access instead of 5?

-------

The game is pretty buggy, but it's mostly small things like dismounting from your horse when you don't want to, or NPC's disappearing (fixed by /reloadui or restarting the game).

Lag wasn't bad all, surprisingly, and on a 2600K/8GB/580 @ 1920x1080, with almost everything maxed out, including draw distance, runs like butter.

Pretty fun so far, and I like that the quests are varied; haven't seen one 'fetch X items', but more often something like 'shut down the 4 portals'.

TONS of stuff to do; barely scratched the starting islands where quests are all over (so explore), and made it to lvl 7 on my DK Bow (which is working out awesome so far). I'm really liking it so far.

I've noticed a few bugs, but only 1 really annoying one.

Of course, random dismounts. But, also, one of the cities caused my game to hang for about 5 seconds every time I ran past a certain point.

Game has also crashed to desktop 1 time for me.

The only 1 thats really bothered me, is one in an area I really can't remember the name of. It's one of the level 4 quests that takes you to a new area. The quest was to bring wounded sailors on the beach some healing item. The quest hangs up on one of the sailors, and never registers a complete.

I did make 1 of each class, woodelf nightblade, high elf sorceror, breton templar, and imperial dragon knight. Going bow with the nightblade, storm calling with the sorceror, 2handed plus middle class skill (whatever it was called) for the templar, and dual wield/first path for the dk.

So far, the hardest one for me to play was the bow nightblade. I'm not sure if it's because I went siphon instead of stealth, because it sucks, or because I suck :p I just know that If I get more than 1 mob on me, it's a sure death.

The easiest one so far has probably been sorceror, strangely enough. Between destruction staff and storm calling, I get a nice knockback, ground ae, and a root spell, thats helped out quite a bit.

Smoothest launch I've ever seen. No patches no downtime. Only problem I had was when I couldn't interact with any NPC so I camped to try to reset but it hung on my next login. However I just killed the client and was able to login just fine.

Only complaint I have about the game is the targeting system which is driving me insane. I'm just too used to using my cursor after all these years of playing EQ/DaoC/Rift/etc. I hate it when I hover over a mob then turn just slightly and now it is not targeted. Or some other guy comes along and now he is my target not the mob. This is going to take a big adjustment for me.

Oh and the map. The map key brings up the map but it takes over your screen. I don't see a way to display a permanent mini map in the corner of the screen. Something I'm missing here?

Graphics are amazing. Got everything cranked to the max and had zero issues with SLI or windows 8.1. Can't wait to get my Haswell MB and cpu this week.

I tried beta for awhile, and have done so many MMO's over the years I've pretty much stopped playing them and it looks as linear as everything else, even having a friend that was playing it saying the PVP was pretty nice that gave me the beta key.

If I was going to do a MMO I'd go here, but just not into it these days I guess.

Frig I beta test EQ in phase 2,3,4.

*throws M&Ms at Fippy*

Just getting tired of the same ol most games I guess.

Yeah, my brothers and I also were complaining about that as well. This game desperately needs the option of adding a mini-map on the screen.

Smoothest MMO launch I have been a part of in my life. But I also know there will be a flood of people coming in later this week that will put the servers under a lot more stress.

I tried the DK, Sorc, and Templar. I like them all so far. DK was surprisingly more fun than expected. I was planning on healing templar + sorc. But maybe the DK will get more play time.

Imperial's horse and other bonus's not worth the premium. But I do like the ability to play other races in other factions. I know this breaks the lore of the game. But still nice.

I had a great day with it yesterday. It was a very smooth launch and I had not problems until last night when a bunch of my quests bugged and it basically halted my progress at lvl 9. I'm hoping that some of that gets fixed today.

The quest on Ash Mountain toe gather daedra hearts and destroy Blaze and the other guardian just does not work. I even tried dropping the quest and doing it again. Secondly, I can't get into the Crow's Wood to finish the quests in there.

I made a Dunmer Caster Nightblade using destruction staff and siphoning. So far, it seems pretty good. I always have the hardest time sticking to a class though so I'm wanting to try a few others.

What is the better way to divvy up my attribute points as a sorcerer (storm calling based)? I'm probably wrong, but it would appear that magicka and stamina don't affect the amount of damage, simply how often a spell/weapon can be used.

Right now, as a lvl 8 sorcerer, I haven't really decided with I'm going with a weapon or staff so I haven't put any skill points into weapons yet. I keep hearing that stamina affects the attack damage even for a sorcerer while using a weapon (both swords/axes/ and staffs).

I know my post is rather disjointed but in a nutshell how do stamina and magicka affect attacks?

Stamina is basically the mana of melee and magicka is the mana of magic. Nothing more, nothing less.

Also, just based on my cursory exploration of the stats, you may get more bang for your buck putting everything into health. I think with enchantments and other gear its pretty easy to cap on magika regen and amount.

I could also be wrong.

Well, most of the major gameplay breaking bugs I had problems with in beta are resolved. Only one buggy quest still I ran into that was left. The Racer for Dominion side out of Skywatch. Only buggy quest I had thus far yesterday. The mount dismount issue is annoying still though too.

I had about 3 or 4 random disconnected, and a few lag based situations or long zone loads. Never had those in beta so I am guessing the lag/dc issue is server stress.

Beyond that, I got to level 11 with my sorc in the initial 5 hours of play I got to do in the morning. Then I had family stuff to do and wasn't able to play except for another hour before bed time. I decided that the sorc wasn't my cup of tea though. I played a templar in beta, and really think the templar is far more powerful with the base class ability trees. At least on solo mobs. The sorc is good, but the base class trees are a bit strange and random to a degree that I don't like. Also very mana heavy as well. Ugh.
