They amended the resolution at least once during the debate ...
From what I gather, the portion in bold above was the catalyst for the resolution, the big problem here is that it is all a lie, as a matter of fact there's a $100,000 reward for video footage from any of the hundred cameras that were rolling non stop during the event to prove it happened. They have made a video using all the source footage start to finish and it clearly shows nothing of the sort happened. The other is that there's some quite misleading BS about racist signs, of which I have seen very few, maybe three total that are definitely racist, that they apparently are flooding TEA Party rallies, and they are full of racist, and their racist signs, and that's complete BS.
Got a rhetorical question for you. Let's say the world was flipped and the tea party now controls all of the federal government. If a bunch of armed Black and Latino American citizens organized a rally where they peacefully demonstrated against this government, how do you think that would play in the minds of white Americans? Not just the tea party movement, but all of white America.
I haven't read the actual resolution, but my understanding is that Tea Party leaders were condemned for not actively fighting against racism. I couldn't care less for what earlier resolutions said. I'm unaware of any significant attempts to address racism as a national issue within the tea party movement, and to me, that is akin to tolerance.
To quote MLK "I am coming to feel that the people of ill will have used time much more effectively than the people of goodwill. We will have to repent in this generation not merely for the vitriolic words and actions of the bad people, but for the appalling silence of the good people. "
