Sounds like you want a girlfriend for all the wrong reasons.

If you are attracted to a woman, you approach her and start talking. Get to know her, etc. And, if things work out, you start dating.

Or, you can become a millionaire and just buy love,... which is what it seems you would prefer. Since you view a girlfriend as something you "get", like a TV or something.

I am going to tell you how I found a girlfriend. It's not going to be easy though. You will need to work a lot. I started by using pickup lines to meet women in bars and clubs. It doesn't matter which pickup lines you use. Use these if you are starting out http://pickuplinesblog.com/. Just practice at least five months and you will have a GF. It took me more but I got the skill after 5months.

Read this please while imagining a Morgan Freeman voice with the words :

It is the most used phrase : "Just be yourself".

But what does it mean in reality ?
Just do what you do normally. Enjoy the things you enjoy, like a hobby.
Usually this means you need to interact sooner or later anyway with other people for some reason as for example shopping for electronic or computer parts.

Best advice is :
When a girl or a woman feels comfortable with you and you can make her laugh. Then you have nothing to worry about. Things that you have in common, that you can talk openly about. That is the start...

The most important reason why this is, is that while you are passionately talking about for example computers, you are not thinking about her and looking at her body with your little "head"... She will notice this, women in general (with accounting for the always existing exceptions) are masters in reading body language and unconsciously detect any change about you. It is part of what is called female intuition.

If she likes you, then one day her hormonal cycle might just tip the balance in your favour if she desires you secretly... Anyway just have normal interaction, even female "just friends" are important for a man's development.
Just as male "just friends" are just as important for a woman's development.
It gives you the chance to see the world around you and yourself from perspectives other than your own...

Are you hiring? Can I send you my resume?

On the contrary, I am quite an excellent leader and team player. I have had multiple leadership titles and I make sure to put them all on my resume.

Multiple leadership titles at your age? Sorry, but 11th grade class secretary, 12th grade class vice president are popularity contests, not leadership roles. What were you? Dungeon master in dungeons and dragons? Guild leader in WoW?

So instead of trying to be smooth, you should focus on technical skills first. When you prove to me that you won't embarrass me in front of the clients or execs, then I will put you in a position where you actually get to use your "sociable" skills. Until then, you are barking up the wrong tree with your approach.

sounds like op is trying to get into a corporate/old boys club gig rather than a "pure" engineering job. if that is the case, i've seen bad practices at corporations where they unofficially look at your personal life, yes it's unethical and you probably want to avoid those types of places. especially from the sounds of your post it is not an area of strength. my advice, concentrate on your strengths and sell those. dont try to "fix" your perceived corporate, old boys club, weaknesses. the business majors will always have you beat in this area, hands down.

In fact, I have had multiple leadership roles, some related to engineering clubs, one related to my job. Getting a bunch of people motivated and headed in the right direction is quite a challenge and knowing how to do it effectively while stepping on the minimum number of toes is the sign of a good leader. I believe my experiences in clubs and also at work qualify me as quite an effective leader and potential employee.

So I am going to be looking for work after I graduate college next year and I need every edge I can get. Someone recently said that interviewers like to hear that their potential employees have girlfriends, especially when you're talking about engineering (because most engineering guys don't have girlfriends). Its a way to differentiate myself.

Now I am set on obtaining a girlfriend but I need tips on how to proceed. I want one that doesn't require much attention, doesn't require lots of money to maintain, and is reasonably attractive. Knowing what you want is half the battle or so I've heard. Now, the other half is actually acquiring one. I am clueless on how to begin. Atot, help me.

This is a near perfect troll. 9.5/10 BRAVO SIR!

Your responses have also been equally precious.

Get a MILF and tell everyone that's your current girlfriend....better, if she- MILF was driving Mercedes or at least a Maybach....

Being president of the robotics club at my highschool actually did me some good when I was looking for my first internship in college. After I had some real experience, I took everything from before college off my resume.

Only an engineer would exhibit this kind of thought process. LOL...
