E-cigarettes linked to incurable 'Popcorn Lung' disease

Can't lie, that was my first thought too. I can see that we got all of the microwave popcorn off the shelves and alcohol off the racks due to their associations as well.

Oh, right.

Because people who microwave popcorn end up pressing their faces against the oven vent inhaling deeply while waiting for the popcorn to finish cooking.

Oh right.... :colbert:

Idiots will continue to be idiots and deny there is anything wrong with smoking e-cigs....

Did you miss the point where it's avoidable and cigarette smokers don't get popcorn lung disease despite inhaling 100x the amount found in vaping?

Self-righteous idiots will continue to make a mountain out of a mole hill.

Before you roll your eyes you should make sure your scorn is heading in the right direction. Do you have any idea how much the corporate lobbyists have neutered the FDA? You want to get mad? Get mad at the money-before-all-else fuckheads who think the FDA should not be able to close down a meat plant when ecoli has been detected. This is the world they've created.

This is just another issue where the wrong people catch heat for the actions and agenda of the corporations. This isn't "think of the children!" so much as it is "think of the shareholders!"

The FDA does the job it's legally permitted to do, holding them responsible for what they do not control is stupid.

Thank you!

This isn't really news. It's been well documented and known in the E-cig community for quite some time. Just buy from reputable vendors that don't use such chemicals. Reasons like these are primarily why I only order from Mt. Baker Vapor and not "corporate" e-juices.

I'm having trouble quantifying the exposure. Recommended limits are given in ppm(presumably combined with natural air), and ecig quantities are given in µg. Is there a way to compare the numbers?

Need a volume with the micrograms to convert to ppm or ppb.

Google um to ppm or mg to ppm.

This has been a point of discussion since folks started making ejuice. Most reputable brands do not include diacetyl, with the lab tests to prove it.

This article is pure, ill-informed clickbait bullshit

A few articles point to a problem of labs not being able to test with the appropriate amount of sensitivity. How do you respond to that?

there is a lot less wrong with smoking an e-cig vs smoking a real cigarette.

how many people have died from second hand e-cig smoke?
Like I said -- idiots will deny there is anything wrong with e-cigs......we are not debating whether e-cigs is the lesser of two evils....

we have some serious denial here......most reputable brands...lol..yeah right!!

So if it's sensitivity we're referring to, I'd assume it's trace levels of diacetyl?

I don't vape, just grow tired of the constant bickering from both uninformed sides of the argument.

Im a HEAVY vapor head, and been vaping since this stuff all started years ago. I buy the stuff in bulk, and pretty much dont put my ecig down other then when Im eating or drinking, or sleeping. I also before vaping used to be a heavy smoker, smoking over 2 packs a day. I build my own coils, cotton my own rig, and vape at 50 watts, unless Im using dual coils at which am running at 90 watts. Vaping vs smoking, my lungs have never felt better, I dont have a cough anymore, I dont have a cough or heaviness in them in the morning since quitting, and breath better. I dont believe any of the bull shit they pump out. Ive had my chest xrayed (sp) and its clean and clear, so this popcorn lung stuff, I do believe it for I asked the guy that mixes my juice for popcorn flavor and told me he wouldnt make it because of this, but other then that, because of my own personal experiences in using these products for the last 5+ years in heavy use, I take every bad report with a total grain of salt. Even my own doctor said this was the best thing I could of ever done for myself, and is happy with how my health has turned around, for he has heard a difference in how my lungs have changed....
