What did Dixon say? This: “We, sir — we — are the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us, our planet, our children, our parents, or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights,” he said. “We truly hope that this show has inspired you to uphold our American values and to work on behalf of all of us.”

OMG!!! Those assholes!!!

This exactly. People are afraid. The other half is afraid while the first half is looking for someone to blame. *shudders*

It is not going to be pleasant having a thin skinned President.
His polls always tanked when he let others drag him around by the nose.
It's really amazing that voters let him recover from such disease of character.
Can't cite those polls anymore...

His supporters also feel like victims. Being a victim is the only thing holding them back from the same kinds of opulent wealth as Trump. Playing the victim strengthens his brand with his strongest supporters.

Or, it could be that people attending a musical about an immigrant politician, with a primarily non-white cast and an HIV-positive lead, are not exactly going to be receptive to an administration whose policies would treat most of those groups as subhuman.

From all accounts, the actual cast was kinder -- they just gave Pence a friendly request to put his bigotry aside.
Pence had to have known this going into the show. I give Pence credit for going into an environment that clearly is not a safe space, and I credit the cast for channeling the negative energy towards a constructive dialogue.

I don't understand why cheeto went spicy on twitter.

That's the easy part: ignore the bigoted appointees and ignore the Trump U settlement that confirms he's a criminal. Pay attention to theater liberals you already hate!
My bet is that the Republican establishment takes him down in year one. They have a historic and unexpected opportunity to shape the future. Trump was the bulldozer that got them there but from this point forward he is a liability.

I can see the press conferences now
Press corp monkey #1: "Mr Trump, is it true that you have the greatest sexual stamina of any president of any country in the world?"
prez drumpf: "Yes, in fact, it's well known that it is the best in recorded history, great question"

this is gonna be a crazy 4 years.
I love how the talking points have already flipped and we're not even past the inagauration. The right is calling for safe spaces and the left is suddenly interested in free speech and open dialogue. Dogs and cats living together.

who is literate? drumpf? pence? Brandon Victor Dixon?
I would not think it was drumpf. that guy has the vocabulary of a mentally challenged 8th grader.

I believe the average American has the vocabulary of an 8th grader, trumps vocabulary clocks in at a 4th grade level.

I will take that bet. Rs showed during the campaign that the majority are spineless, or at best ethically challenged. On second thought, no bet. They will line up behind whoever decides to out-bully Trump.

Wishful thinking. They're already backing the trillion dollar plan to create a new christian ethnocentric america: http://www.cnn.com/videos/politics/...dollar-infrastructure-plan-marsh-pkg-lead.cnn

Hope you didn't believe they're actually fiscally conservative, because that'd be pretty embarrassing given what you've probably been proselytizing for them all these years.

The left has always been into free speech. Discrimination is not speech.

I suppose from within the echo chamber it sounds like free speech.

Using white privilege as the starting point in a conversation about race suppresses speech.

Having cry-ins on a college campus over who lost an election suppresses free speech.

Claiming that Halloween costumes is a form of cultural appropriation suppresses free speech.

We have liberals to thank for parental advisor stickers. How conveniently we forget Tipper Gore and all of that save the children nonsense.

Both sides look to suppress speech when it is convenient to do so

Are you saying that people can't talk about the difference in quality of life when you're born a white male?

You're against freedom of speech.

Having cry-ins on a college campus over who lost an election suppresses free speech.

Are people not allowed to cry about a matter? Stop suppressing freedom of speech and freedom of expression.

Claiming that Halloween costumes is a form of cultural appropriation suppresses free speech.

It's called freedom of speech. Stop trying to suppress it.

If by speech, you mean racism, sexism, homophobia, racial supremacy, etc., then I'm okay with that. Which is by and large what "The Left" are arguing for. "The Right", on the other hand, want to be free to be as racist, sexist, homophobic, etc. etc., as they want.

At least, that's what I've seen from the people who label themselves as "The Right", and label others that are more grounded in reality as "The Left".
