Imagine that, more hypocrisy. Dixon's old tweets coming out. Calling women ho's and joking about black men taking advantage of drunk white women. And he's taking the high road now? Stay classy, and hypocritical.

Some people here will defend his comments though. The same people who condemn some of Trumps. It'll be funny.

Just fyi he's being facetious, but it's funny because it's true.

Not defending what he said, but it also doesn't matter in the context of this discussion. This is about a specific event and how Trump's oh so tiny fingers reacted to it. You're just trying the lamest of duhflections at this point. I hope Trump at some point starts to act presidential. Our country isn't well served by a "leader" with a skin thinner than the distance between a proton and an electron. When you make excuses for his actions you're just as lame as Trump.

I have different expectations of an actor and of the President of the United States.
Oddly enough, I found Pence's reaction to be completely Presidential. That really is what freedom sounds like. You and Trump need to get over it.

On the point of him finally pivoting, it's worth noting that he never pivoted during the campaign because he knew that was what caused his predecessors to lose. Now that he won with a huge swing of non-college whites in the rust belt, look for him to consolidate that power base with bannon.

OK, so let's try and recap what the hell is going on here....

During a Broadway theater show, VP-elect Pence gets booed at by the audience. One of the lead actors tells the audience to stop booing at him, and gives a message to Pence about the importance of upholding the values of all Americans in this country and how concerned they are with the kind of messages and rhetoric Pence has said before, or whatever. Pence takes the entire situation in stride, and would later say that he wasn't offended by the actor's message.

But Trump gets offended by what happened at that theater, and goes on a Twitter tirade about how much the cast of Hamilton sucks and "HOW DARE THEY CRITICIZE THE VP ELECT!!1!1". So he ends up making himself look undignified about the whole situation, while Pence ends up looking like the better man here.

Whether you agree or disagree with the way that Dixon sent his message, Trump has objectively made himself look stupid and Pence ends up looking more mature and "presidential" here.

What about the part where some posters make fools of themselves?

It matters because Dixon was standing up to someone perceived as racists and sexist. While Dixon himself made comments that were both racist and sexist. He too is in the public spot light. That's being a hypocrite. He thrust himself into the spot light, should have made sure his shit didn't stink first.

How did I deflect or make excuses for him? I didn't. In my first post I said Trump was acting like a baby and he should stay off Twitter. Doesn't sound like a deflection or excuse. He acted like a fool as usual, almost every time he thinks someone took a shot at him he does this.

Trump is doing exactly what he did during the election, and it is still working.

Exploit a non issue and blow it up on twitter such that it jumps to the front of the current news cycle but inevitably blows over.

By doing so, distract and throw off the scent of legitimate stories like cabinet appointments and potential conflicts of interest with business ties.

I don't think his twitter posting is actually a calculated scheme. Just looking at his history going back years its the same deal, if anything it's been toned down the last couple years since you've got Ivanka and company trying to restrain his worst impulses.

What does any of your blather have to do with me? I've never advocated for a Muslim registry or actively supported people who want one. You can make all the silly accusations you want, but all I see is a spoiled brat rolling on the ground in a pathetic hissy-fit.

Funny all these people say things like both sides equally bad and I want liberty but can't be bothered to lift a finger when there's talk of a muslim registry or anytime when it counts. "He didn't really anything he says", LOL.

I used to consider people like that dunning kruger posterkids, but now I know they can often tell the difference between right and wrong.

Pretty evident you'll look the other way at best and provide cover whatever happens, you've certainly never disavowed the racists who've a staple of party since the 60's so why start now. Just because it makes you look bad doesn't mean reality is a libtard conspiracy, and it's perfectly understandable why your sort choose to be dishonest about it.
