Cold and Telekinesis are both super strong and not *too* hard to figure out. Some enemy types resist cold damage, but you can still immobilize them with Winter's Grasp/Cone of Cold. Btw, I believe there's a Blizzard/Tempest combo since you already have fire.

Not coincidentally, Morrigan has early points in these lines.

Useful tips - unfortunately, I'm level 18 and don't have ice. I'm not at all sure I've got enough levels left to get ice, since I don't have anything there yet.

There's also a Blizzard/Tempest/Inferno combo that will destroy pretty much anything.

My copy finally came in! Took 10 damn days though (7 business)..

I am going to try to beat The Witcher and Valkyria Chronicles before giving into the temptation, however.

The party should be auto following you already. Look at the two circles below the portraits, is the right side one a "Stop" hand? If so, press "H" and the party shold go back to following you.

Anyone have any tips for killing the guys that come out of the gravestones in the elf forest quest? I've beat one of them, but it took so damn long and a crazy amount of mana potions. I basically have to set my two melee guys to attack and use my two mages to constantly heal and chug the potions. It seems like there should be an easier way. He also resists magic :(

Having the blizzard AOE spell really helps, along with the AOE hex or whatever it's called. I go for the weaker undead first as their damage adds up real quick (much easier if they are all frozen), leaving your main tank on the boss to keep him busy. Watch out for when the boss sucks one of your characters next to him, his attack also seems to have a wide arc and can kill your squishy units fast. Other then that, micro manage your parties special abilities/spells.

Well, I take back what I said about the game being mage unfriendly. It's not, I just happened to decide to go down the lightning tree, which has proven ... less then ideal.

By comparision, the sleep and fire trees have been very kind to me. Sleep/horror/waking nightmare have been very useful, and fireball has been a stanby. Doubtless, this is partly cause I'm wussing out and playing on easy - the lightning tree as well, chain lightning seems to be balanced for it's lack of friendly fire.

It is still *hard*. I made the mistake of blowing the horn at the top of the mountain on the ashes quest line. Turns out the only ashes I found were my own. I'm thus, very hesitant about Morganana's personal quest.

I thought the personal quest fight was easier than the mountain top fight, for what it's worth.

Ok, so it seems I haven't run into Leilana yet which makes me think I'm missing something as I'm level 14 and I've done the ashes, the dalish, the circle, and am about to do the Frostback mountains. Where should I run into this chick?

You get her at Lothering in the tavern. After you leave there and do Redcliff, I am pretty sure you can't go back. Besides, you aren't missing anything.

Yep, can't go back to Lothering I've noticed for sure. Don't know how I missed her. I don't even remember seeing a tavern in Lothering. Guess that gives me something to do on the next play through.

Well, she is a romanceable character, and the only female romanceable by either sex. But, personality wise, she's nothing special, no.

She's pretty good with a bow. Not bad with daggers. If you don't play with a rogue class, she's not bad to have around to open chests, at the very least. I haven't concentrated to much with thieving skills, however, so there are still plenty of chests out of her skill range.

I have her in my party only because I was attempting to woe two love interests at once and to open chests. Her background quest isn't too bad either, but not nearly as fun as Morrigan's. I say fun, but I really mean hard. And the chatter between her and Morrigan is quit amusing, especially when they both are a love interest.

Another game play question. Is the only way to target with the mouse? I noticed tab shows all targets, but doesnt select them, like wow.

My party at level 10 is myself (warrior), Alistair, Wynne, and Leilana. I still haven't found a person to specialize my character. Well, apart from Alistair but he's already a templar so there's no point me being one as well.

Oh decisions, decisions, decisions. This one related to crafting armor.

After getting loads of drake scales, and one (high) dragon scale I found the smith in Denerim can make armor out of them. I paid 10 gold for the first batch only to find out online that paying makes no difference the first time, but paying doubles the special stats on the dragon armor. But I can find no info on what make a second set of drake amor will do and if paying is worth it or not. It's 20g and a unknown time to make the second drake set, but it could be worth it if the dragon armor is improved because of it. Anyone know the ansewr?

-edit-
Ahh, did some more digging and found this.

"If you paid for the first two sets of drake scale armor, you might get a Superior set of armor this time. Once you have collected the set of Dragon Scale Armor from Wade"

The second set of drake armor is far better than the first. From what I remember, you don't get an option to pay for the dragon armor.

I have discovered if you exit and reenter the shop your drake armor (at lest the second set) is done. You don't pay for the dragon scale set and it's done in a matter of seconds.

So make a quick save and you can explore all the different options and see if you want to pay or not. The dragon scale armor comes in medium/heavy/bone (massive). I have also found paying for the first drake scale set (10g) but not the second (20g) yielded the same results for both the second (superior) drake scale and (superior) dragon scale armor with all the bonuses.

You can get a second dragon scale but I do not have this yet.

Might as well add this on where to get
the drake/dragon scales. 6 drake scales (two drake armor sets) and 1 dragon scale (hell of a hard fight) can be had in the old temple you go to after visiting Heaven (Sacred Urn quest). Another dragon scale can be had with Morrigan's person quest you get after doing the mage quest at some point.

Does anyone know when you unlock the arcane warrior specialization? Is it a bought manual or story related? Also the ranger specialization.

The Elf main story quest inside the ruined temple. A glass bottle buried in a pile of dirty will tell you (if it attacks you it's not it) located in a small room.
