Dragon Age 2 demo out now

I know what I'm doing tonight. I hope this also makes it so there's less/nothing to download when it's officially released.
 
I hope anyone who actually wants to play it tonight is already downloading it. I started it before I left for work, and it said between 4 and 13 hours to download. Their servers are getting crushed.

this is really where legal torrents would excel
 
My download's got 50 minutes to go (started about 4 hours ago)...downloading at 100kbps. I started the torrent just now...wonder which will finish first. I think the torrent.
 
I downloaded it from Steam with no issues, played about an hour of it, got to a big ogre battle and realized I didn't have any tactics set and died over and over. I quite enjoyed it
 
Downloaded it from steam at 1 MB/sec. I really enjoyed the demo. I also kept dieing at the ogre and had to set my tactics. Game runs great on my setup, considering how old my setup is I thought it would run like poo.

SOAB, I forgot about Steam :/. Oh well, it's sure it's downloaded by now anyway. I will remember for future reference though. lol
 
I think it's a good sign that Bioware is releasing a playable demo before the game is released. Generally companies don't like to release a demo until after the game hits the shelves, because if it doesn't meet expectations they may lose sales. Anyone have any impressions yet?
 
Cool. Downloading at over a meg a second from steam. Initial reports are positive so I'm interested to see how it compares to the first game (which I enjoyed a lot)

Don't think we'll be able to tell on graphics, as anything above dx9 (medium) is disabled, along with AF. Though dx9 graphics seem to be a large improvement. May be the art style too.
 
This game has a totally different feel from the first Dragon Age game. I poured almost 150 hours into that game and I loved it. DA2 feels a lot more like an action rpg... moreso than the first game. It's not bad but I'm going to wait a bit before buying.

yeah, i get that same feeling, like going from ME to ME2, they kind of simplified things for the console crowd 🙁
