Yeah apparently updating armor on your companions was too hard to understand.

Whoa, people were saying it's too much of an action game, I figured meh it could use some more action. Then people said it's too easy, I thought big deal just turn the difficulty up. Now you can't change their armor? I guess they really did dumb the game down for console players...

They'll probably add DLC content you have to pay for so you can change armour on your companions, wouldn't surprise me. D:

Whats this I hear you can't change armour on your group?....http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/141/index/6391011

Sounds like they are dumbing it down and trying to simplify everything.

Man this DA2 release has been hilarious. Equipment is one of the major draws of RPGs for me. Who doesn't love tricking your party out in new weapons and armor you acquired from slaying the latest baddy?

Then demo didn't allow you to customize your character's look.... Really? After releasing a character editor for the 1st game, the demo of the 2nd doesn't let you customize your characters looks? I found that so laughable.

That's a bummer if you can't change their equipment, but the benefit of cutting that out is that you also remove a lot of the worthless stuff you found in DA:O and most other RPG's. Even though I enjoy pouring over stats there were plenty of times in DA:O that I questioned whether a rogue is really even necessary - 99.9% of the chests in DA:O have NOTHING worthwhile. Yes, you can sell stuff and that's great, but there has to be a better way than walking around picking up Leather Helm's all day long...etc.

But yeah, it is awesome when you slay a tough opponent only to find his armor is lootable and you can deck out your tank in it.

Speaking of which, do your companions armor just auto-level along with yours? If there is armor for Hawke then I presume the pieces get progressively better, how would your companions armor keep up unless they auto-leveled it? Makes me wonder what other items will auto-level (if any)... doesn't that pre-order "Fadeshear Blade" level up along with you? Hmmm...

The Escapist review explains how it works. You can still upgrade thier weapons and accessories, and you find fixed armor upgrades for them at set times during the story.
Some players may have loved min-maxing every piece of equipment for each party member in Origins, but I didn't miss anything by just concentrating on their weapons and accessories. I was content to discover the specific armor upgrades for companions that are sprinkled around the city, again rewarding the player for exploring.

Just finished the demo.
That was good!

It feels a bit more cinematic than the original DA, more catchlines, the dialogs feel more Hollywoodesque to put it somehow.

And I need a brunette just like that rogue, in real life. :D

As always its your opinion that matters not a web site or magazine review,I'm still shocked at what they have done to poor old Anders,oh well I guess we'll see how that turns out.

Spoiler warning on Anders .

Reviews are good for two things: info about the game and if you know where the reviewer is coming from. Take Yahtzee's reviews for example. His point of view is very apparent and where it intersects with your own, it's useful.
