http://www.nj.com/sports/index.ssf/2015/07/trump_dumped_again_nascar_is_the_latest_to_cut_tie.html

While golf organizations apparently hope the Donald Trump controversy will go away, NASCAR on Friday cut ties with the Republican billionaire presidential candidate, who has doubled down on racist remarks that called Mexican immigrants "rapists."

"When Mexico sends its people, they're not sending their best," Trump said at the announcement of his candidacy. "They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people."

In appearances since, Trump has stood by his statements.

If it's not the Mexicans, "who's doing the raping?" Trump asked. "Who's doing the raping?"

On the same day one of its top sponsors called on NASCAR to take a stance against Trump, the motorsports series said it will not hold its season-ending awards ceremony at the Trump National Doral Miami.
He had to have known he would lose a ton of money with those dumb ass comments right? What was he thinking?

“The U.S. has become a dumping ground for everybody else's problems. When Mexico sends its people, they're not sending their best. They're sending people that have lots of problems, and they're bringing those problems with us. They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people."

This comment has become "I hate Mexicans". This is not what he said, however. But, again, it's easier for people to be outraged than to look at the truth. And while Trump wasn't the most eloquent in his wording, there is some truth to it.

- Mexico does nothing to assist with the illegal boarder crossing, in fact they have spoken out against any increase US presence on the boarder and any deporting. They have a vested interest in letting hundreds of thousands cross the boarder.

- The vast majority of illegals are poor and poorly educated, and MANY of them do carry a criminal background.

- Does anyone have an issue with the drug portion of this comment? If so, you're delirious.

I have to wonder why any country would impose restrictions or barriers to emigration unless of course you are North Korea or East Germany. How many U.S. administrative hoops do you need to jump through to emigrate to say, Sweden? Even Iran has nothing to prevent people from immigrating to the U.S.

When you say many carry a criminal background, show some facts/percentages please. Is it higher than the percentage of blacks (or even whites) with criminal backgrounds in the U.S.? Using the word "MANY" right after the phrase "vast majority" implies that this percentage is significant.

Mexican citizens entering the country to reside illegally and drugs being brought into the country are two separate and unlinked processes. Drug trafficking is fueled by American consumption. The U.S. has not done much to kill the demand, which is the real and only way to curb the supply.

you forgot Eritrea, which is also the only country along with the US to apply a global tax :p

at least he isn't racist

Anyway Mexico isn't sending anyone, it's simply not their duty to care, and some emigration is actually good for a country if it has a total fertility rate above the replacement rate since it eliminates mostly poor people and creates an influx of strong currency through remittances.

Trump is many things, but I don't think he is saying any of this out of stupidity. Its a deliberate calculation on his part to appeal to the most xenophobic part of the GOP. Think about it, he bashes foreigners, gets called out for it, plays the victim card + he is just the only one willing to tell the truth. There are people who lap this shit up.

The real morons would be anyone who would vote for him after being so cynically manipulated.

I definitely think he's ignorant, due to his recent blatherings, but dumb? Nah, he's not dumb.
Asshole - sure, absolutely
Racist - well, we have some pretty damning evidence to get to that conclusion
Narcissist - Short of his most recent wife, nearly everyone on the planet would agree on this title for him
Vindictive - Look at the petty lawsuits he files for this

I just don't think we can put the word dumb in there. Which, in my mind, is a good thing as he can be held 100% for every ignorant diatribe he goes on. And, eventually, he will pay for his ignorance, major corporations are distancing themselves from him, as are population masses. And I feel zero empathy for him. He's had numerous chances to walk back some of his more volatile statements, and instead, he's double/tripled down on them.

Mexicans aren't a race.

The problem is he went overboard, but most people don't say enough. People are getting on him for sweeping generalizations about Mexicans, but no politician I can think of is honest about them at all; many of them are criminals--a ton of them--and many of them are badly educated and not really good for the USA. Trump went full retard and is terrible at choosing his words, but to disagree with him doesn't mean what he said is applicable about a lot of people who are illegally here.

Obviously his comments weren't the most politically correct, but it's far easier to label a rich, loud mouthed white guy as racist than it is to actually consider the point he's making.

If there isn't an ulterior motive, then he's a huge dumb ass. First for thinking he actually has a chance and, second, for saying retarded things that completely destroys his ratings with important demographics. A presidential run is about making yourself as likable as possible to as many people as possible. In a single sentence, he eliminated an entire race and all liberal moderates. Then he digs in...

Yes OP, your character assassination is true. Donald Trump is unintelligent and you are superior, as are your posting skills. You just have never applied yourself and he was lucky. lol?

Anyone who thinks illegal Mexican immigrants are so wonderful needs to come to NYC asap. We have plenty of them. The contradiction is a completely porous Southern border with heightened security elsewhere that denies taxpayers certain liberties and freedom. But I too am stupid like Donald Trump.

I have no problem with immigrants. Come on in, that's how we were started after all. But as a side note, don't come here expecting us to bend to your way of doing things. If you are coming here you should expect to become an American. Don't like it? Then don't come.

I DO have a problem with illegal immigrants as they are the problem makers (i.e. the rapists he was talking about). Are all illegals murderers and rapists? No. But I'd wager a lot higher percentage of them are vs the people who do it correctly. There's likely a reason why they're doing it the wrong way.

I may not agree with Trump's standings on many things, but one thing I do at least appreciate about him is how he couldn't care less about being politically correct. Political correctness has become a cancerous disease in this nation and it needs to end. Stop worrying about "offending" just call it like it is.

Studies have shown that illegals actually commit crimes at lower rates than citizens.
They have an interest in not being contacted by authorities.
On the other hand, we elected a convicted criminal president for the first time, GWB.
And he got a large percentage of the hispanic vote, was he pandering to illegals?

He keeps hundreds of millions of dollars and going bankrupt a lot, so I guess he isn't that dumb.

As a President, that would be a joke.

The US is a bit of a joke these days for allowing that kind of thing to begin with, and many other issues.

I don't know if his ulterior motive is money. I think it's more likely that he's desperately seeking attention, just like he always does. Seems to be working so far.

Personally, I would say the attention is not worth making himself a complete joke, but he seems to be polling well among Republicans so I guess he's still legitimate in their eyes.
