I find swearing to be crass, unnecessary, and offensive. I do not enjoy listening to it.
When I was a sailor in the Navy, I did not swear like one.
When I do swear, it has more effect and catches the attention of everyone around me. Just like Mosh mentioned earlier.
This past weekend, I was outside pulling weeds in my brother's raspberry bushes. I pulled off my glove to pick a few red raspberries for my little nephew. When I put my glove back on, my hand hurt and something moved in my glove. When the pain did not go away, I pulled the glove off my hand and something flew out of the glove. Most likely a wasp. From the unexpected pain, surprise, shock, and a bit of fear, I muttered a weak, "damn". This caught the attention of everyone around me as they came over to see what was wrong.
