You are Hilarious! Check your history and you'll find the load I've mentioned was used for over 10 years and it's been over 12 since they turned in there .38s! This ammo ceased production in 1989. I grabbed a bunch. So much for the 'Hottest Trick Ammo!'

<< ). In my experience, someone who has an anal focus on ammo is usually a coward who has never seen lethal combat, and its end results. >>

And just what experience do you have oh Soldier of Fortune? Do you read at all or just spout off?

<< In fact, that "home defense" shootout you dream about, no matter how clean, will usually end up in CIVIL lawsuit by the survivor family costing many thousands even if you prevail. >>

Hummm, 10 years ago I moved to a small community. I know all my neighors and they know me. My property is well lit. I have 2 dogs. Deadbolts on all locks. Cell phone. A Family that knows how to shoot...I do not 'dream' of it, in fact I've taken neccessary steps to avoid it.

And around here, the Police take a report and a body away and the HomeOwner goes free!

Most Anandteches know how old I am as I'm not afraid to state it or to show my profile....unlike yourself...

Now settle down...you might pop a vessel....:D

Btw, if it died...whay did you read this post?:)

I have my husband for a weapon :) Seriously, though, we have knives and chucks, and I am good enough with both to defend myself and our kids if there was an intruder. I keep a knife (butterfly, my personal favorite) and a pair of chucks right next to my bed just in case. My husband owns a gun, but we have kids and don't keep it in the house. I wouldn't fire it anyway b/c I only know how to use a shotgun, not a handgun, and I'd probably end up shooting myself in the foot or something dumb like that. So far, I haven't had to use anything more than my elbow in self defense, but the reason I can rest easy at night is that I've got the weapons if I need them.

Glock Rulez!!

I am planning on ordering a Glock 21 this weekend... Thinking about maybe a smaller gun for conceal and carry as the 21 is pretty darn big. Perhaps a Glock 30 or 36. I might have to go with a smaller caliber if my wife wants to be proficient with it (she is a wimp, .45 would knock her on her tush).

Knives, swords, and an H&K mark 23 (nice .45 cal hand gun), which BTW is much more reliable than Glock or anything else.

Although Heckler &Koch make very fine firearms, they tend to be high in price. On reliability, I'd much rather talk about an Individual's firearm, like Russ's Baretta or my Glock21, that just saying a certain model is more reliable simply because of it's make.

For instance, I bought a Sig Sauer P228 in part, because of it's reputation for accuracy and reliability. Wrong! The one I had was a POS big time!

I also had a Glock 17 that I purchased soon after they became available. POS!

Colts of all calibers vary a great deal on quality, accuracy, or reliability.

The H&K guns are very well made, but I'd hold back final judgement until I was able to shoot the gun I was to own! In my opinion, to make a claim that all the guns coming down an assembly line will be the same in these respects is dreaming.

My Glock 21 feeds evey round I've ever put through it! Possibly with the exception of some .45 ACP from Isreal that was loaded for full auto UZIs and had extra hard primers.

It even feeds 170grain semi wadcutters! If it'll feed that, it will feed anything!
