Genuine question for the people who drink alcohol out regularly. Do you always make someone else drive? Do you not drink a lot and therefore think your alright to drive home? How does this work.

It is said the body can absorb one glass of wine/alcohol per hour. Having a full stomach increases the body's ability to absorb alcohol. Especially greasy/fatty/starchy foods. Drinking water helps greatly.
When sitting down to eat a good meal for one hour. A person can easily drink about 2 glasses of wine and have low enough blood/alcohol levels afterward. A bigger person, eating more food, sitting for 1.5-2 hours can drink half a bottle of wine and be fit enough to safely drive home. Especially, if a few glasses of water have been drunk within the 20-30 minutes before leaving.
Typically, I can drink 2-3 glasses of wine during a meal, drink 3 glasses of water, and be good to go. 3 glasses of wine is pushing it for me, though, and I only drink 3 when sitting for longer than one hour.
There are some times when 2 glasses provides a stronger than normal buzz. Then I stay longer, drink more water, and nibble more food. I do not drive until that buzz feeling is gone.
