Disney will be accused of racism no matter what they chose for this first film featuring a black princess.

No, there are plenty of black racists.
I've met more minority racists than White ones. Actually, I have never met an (openly) racist White person ever...

The only racist people left in this country that aren't so backwoods they haven't seen a television set OR a minority in 30 years are the minorities themselves who fling the race card every chance they get.
Eh, you know I hate to disagree with you nik but there are still some regular everyday nutcases out there. Check out the Couer d'Alene Idaho white power annual gathering. Young folks in regular society with an ass-backwards understanding of the world. Don't underestimate the stupidity of people.
On the flip side, I would say that society in general recognizes these folks for the bigots they are and they are disadvantaging themselves more than minorities when they display their prejudices.

It would be funny if the black princess talked like a portly black woman from the south.

More from the article: "Anika Noni Rose, the black actress who voices the character of Princess Tiana, has insisted that people should look beyond the colour of the character.
?Not only is she the first black princess, she?s the first American princess. We?ve never had an American princess,? said Rose."
You Disney fans... so they've actually never even had an American princess?

Dora the Explorer is pretty popular and definitely not a white character.

Disney uses the term "princess" rather loosely. Belle (Beauty & the Beast), Mulan, and Cinderella have all been marketed as Disney Princesses (TM), yet none of them have royal blood. I think Ariel (Little Mermaid), Aurora (Sleeping Beauty), and Jasmine (Aladdin) are the only "real" princesses.
There was Pocahontas, but I don't recall her actually being marketed as a Disney Princess. I think she's the only American.
Boo to all the racists who actually give a fvck about what race the prince is. Whatever happened to "I have a dream..."

Many Americans HATE "I have a dream..." they don't want black people to have dreams. Between the straight up rednecks, and the closest bigots who try and come off as having a "one love" mentality towards other races. I see this movie not doing even close to typical Disney numbers. The 2 groups of people I brought up make up a sizable chunk of people in good Ole' America.

Yet Will sSmith and Denzel Washington are arguably THE two most succesful movie stars in the last few years.
