There is a very different demographic of people who go to Will Smith and Denzel Washington movies versus people who go to Disney Princess movies/buy Disney Princess merchandise.

I do believe that younger generations are certainly less race-aware than the generation before.


Again, I hope that I am wrong and this movie does gangbusters at the theatre and in the stores.

2 out of how many? There are always exceptions, but the 2 you mentioned definitely are not the rule, if you want to use exceptions for the normal. Then Obama as our president means black people aren't discriminated against when it comes to getting jobs. Because, I mean he has a job, and a good one at that. So they all must right? And if you look beyond the movies what do you see? There's no Will Smith Handcock action figure you can buy. Where any other action hero movie would have plenty of toy tie ins. Hell they even released Punisher action figures, and that was possibly the most kid unfriendly action hero movie I've ever seen.
