More from the article: "Anika Noni Rose, the black actress who voices the character of Princess Tiana, has insisted that people should look beyond the colour of the character.
?Not only is she the first black princess, she?s the first American princess. We?ve never had an American princess,? said Rose."
You Disney fans... so they've actually never even had an American princess?
Disney uses the term "princess" rather loosely. Belle (Beauty & the Beast), Mulan, and Cinderella have all been marketed as Disney Princesses (TM), yet none of them have royal blood. I think Ariel (Little Mermaid), Aurora (Sleeping Beauty), and Jasmine (Aladdin) are the only "real" princesses.
There was Pocahontas, but I don't recall her actually being marketed as a Disney Princess. I think she's the only American.
Boo to all the racists who actually give a fvck about what race the prince is. Whatever happened to "I have a dream..."
