Few, if ANY countries have border walls and physical barriers between peaceful countries.

In point of fact, the current US southern border has far more security than ANY EU border.

The EU allowed 2.7 million immigrants seeking asylum in 2019.

No first world non-communist country has walls on its borders.

Our borders are not "wide open" or "uncontrolled" nor is anyone advocating for that. That is a strawman. What we haven't done is copy the Berlin Wall and act like the USSR, China and North Korea with our borders. We're not a totalitarian nation, no matter how much Trumpers want us to be.

According to various articles, these are lawsuit settlements, not reparations. The government is being sued.

Reparation - the making of amends for a wrong one has done, by paying money to or otherwise helping those who have been wronged.

Court ordered or not they are still reparations.
