edit: he was written out of history by the early xian church.

edit 2: actually, he had several brothers and sisters. these were full siblings (not half-siblings, altho he may have had half-siblings as well). I am talking about the children of Mary, i.e., Jesus, James, Joses, Judas, & Simon, plus sisters

I bet you did not know that Jesus was a Jew and worked as a Carpenter! And that he walked for Fourty days strieght and did not drive an ECO-FRIENDLY SUV though the desert. What would jesus drive? Nothing! He could have taken a camel or ridden an ass but he is a humble person and walked!

Why did'nt Jesus shave? Shaving was considered a luxury at the time and only the rich could afford a clean shaven face, so Jesus did not shave becuase being rich is a sin. Riding a camel when god gave you two feet is a luxury. Driving an Eco-SUV is a luxury. Jesus would not drive since Jesus did not partake in luxurous living.

Ignorace is never bliss, Wake up people read what the good book has to tell you!

Meh, I'll stick to being Agnostic, although I'm turning more and more atheist by the day.

For people who only value emprically-verifiable facts:

Atheism is another form of faith. Those of you who are honest with yourselves will only claim to be agnostics.

IMO, this is an important point. Too many elitists go around claiming atheism without realizing that this effectively lumps them in with other people who believe something that they can not empirically prove.

Being rich isn't a sin. Infact, God wants us to be rich. And in more ways than just money. However if we're talking money, spending it on gold and 5 million dollar summer houses and 100k dollar cars, that may not be what God wants someone to do with their money. And I can assure you, there's better things to do with money than that. And I'm not saying it's wrong to have nice things. But who really needs a Rolls when an Accord will do you just as good.

"White folks only want to hear the good ******: life eternal, a place in God's Heaven. But as soon as they hear they're getting this good ****** from a black Jesus, they freak. And that, my friends, is called hypocrisy. A black man can steal your stereo, but he can't be your Savior."

Riiight. It's all a plot against the blacks by the white folks.

He was Jewish. What colour is their skin?(as if it matters). They aren't black. He would have looked eastern most likely. Dark skin and Hewbrew speaking. But really, it doesn't matter.
The word race is not mentioned once in the Bible, by the way, other than a foot race.

Hopefully you got my point that people are so ignorant to say WWJD- What would Jesus drive. Driving an expensive car is luxury. Driving a car is a luxury, since most of the people in the world do not own, no less drvie cars. I feel privlidged driving a 12 year old car, it is an honor or privilidge and not a right. Jesus did not live a life of luxury and that is how things were intended to be.

Saying that this was written out of the Bible by the church is nonsense. It's all there in black and white, as Klin demonstrated.

Contempoary historians believe James played a quite large role in the nurturing & developing of the early christian church in the immediate years after his brother's death. this role played by James is actually ignored or minimized in the gospels (which were of course written many years after Jesus' death) - James barely gets a mention in the gospels. His real (i.e., historical contributions to the development of the early church remain essentially unacknowledged.

James isn't mentioned in the Gospels because he had not put faith in Jesus during the time those events took place. It was after Jesus death that James started activity in the congregations. James also wrote one of the last books of the Bible, bearing his name. I think Paul also reported his escape from prison to James (somewhere in Acts).

i find it funny that people think they can easily find inconsistencies when scholars, doctors, historians, priests, experts, etc. have spent 2000 years in collaboration with the church translating and interpreting the bible for us.

actually i did the same thing today during my calculus midterm. "hey this doesn't make sense dangit. you can't find the general antiderivative of 3/x if 3x^(-1+1) = 3x^0! something is wrong i tells ya!"

if you really want to know, go find out for yourself from trusted, knowledgeable sources, instead of digging for attention and opinions on an open ot forum.
