I wonder why it's not widely known?
It'd pretty much shoot the whole "Virgin Mary" angle in the ass, wouldn't it?
Only mankind could develop something like religion in order to screw up something as glorious as God.

She didn't have to be a virgin for life...

And if the early "xians" wanted to write his half-siblings out of history, why did they put them in the Bible? 😕

edit 2: actually, he had several brothers and sisters. these were full siblings (not half-siblings, altho he may have had half-siblings as well). I am talking about the children of Mary, i.e., Jesus, James, Joses, Judas, & Simon, plus sisters

Whether you consider them full siblings or half siblings depends on whether you believe in the virgin birth...

yes....I think Mary was kind of regearded as a "slut" too...I remember some kid brought that up when I was in the 7th grade. He went straight to the principal's office (he didn't use the hoe).

Meh, I'll stick to being Agnostic, although I'm turning more and more atheist by the day.

An agnostic is just an atheist without the balls to make a real commitment. You'll get there someday.

"White folks only want to hear the good ******: life eternal, a place in God's Heaven. But as soon as they hear they're getting this good ****** from a black Jesus, they freak. And that, my friends, is called hypocrisy. A black man can steal your stereo, but he can't be your Savior."

His name was James.

edit: he was written out of history by the early xian church.

The Catholic church holds that Mary was a virgin her entire life and that the passages in Mark, which Klin quotes above, are referring to children of Joseph from an earlier marriage. The Protestant church generally believes that these kids were children of Mary and Joseph and were conceived after Jesus.

You must be a little mixed up on the whole siblings, half siblings thing. Whole siblings would mean that they had the same father and mother. If you go by what the Bible says, Jesus' father was not Joseph. At the very most, by Biblical interpretation, these would have been Jesus' half siblings by his mother.

Saying that this was written out of the Bible by the church is nonsense. It's all there in black and white, as Klin demonstrated.

The Bible talks about Jesus' brothers. The Catholics have some fascination with Mary being a virgin forever. The Bible doesn't say anything about this. :/

hahaha ok. took me 2 readings to understand it. shouldnt try reading ATOT and watch the bears game heh

Yeah, I remember hearing about Jim Christ, I think he had a beer out, Jimmy Beer. He was sort of the black sheep in the family.

Matthew 1:
23 Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, And they shall call his name Immanuel; which is, being interpreted, God with us.
24 And Joseph arose from his sleep, and did as the angel of the Lord commanded him, and took unto him his wife;
25 and knew her not till she had brought forth a son: and he called his name JESUS

She was a virgin when she gave birth to Jesus. I don't know why the Catholic Church holds that she was a virgin her whole life (as was pointed out before, Jesus had siblings). It's sad, though, that they have turned her into a goddess to be worshipped and idolized.

Which is why many Christians frown upon Catholicism and some go so far as to even section them off from the broad term of Christianity - they have an unhealthy, unbiblical obsession with Mary.

Book of Mark
6:1 And he went out from thence, and came into his own country; and his disciples follow him.

6:2 And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands?

6:3 Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.

6:4 But Jesus, said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.

Isn't it amazing what would be common knowledge if people actually read the Bible? 😉
