I enjoyed ME1 more because of the RPG elements. Could have used some improvements, sure, but I didn't think that they should have been completely stripped out. ME2 was not bad in any way, but it felt too much like a different game.

Also, I actually like the open world feel that the Mako gave you. Searching for artifacts, and needing to have specific characters with skills to do stuff, that really engrossed me in the game. ME2 had a little more "on rails" feeling.

Mass Effect 2 is the better game by a longshot, but suffers from a lot of the world's story pieces already being known. On the other hand, I freaking love Mordin, the intro to the game is intense as hell, and playing a vanguard as a renegade is the baddest assed thing ever. Way too much fun. I think it's the best game I've ever played.

ME2 is some of the most fun gameplay I've ever experienced in a game, while ME1 was the most epic story line. Hopefully they can combine the best of both worlds for ME3. I couldn't care less about which inventory system they use.

I like ME2 better for two reasons. Miranda. ;)

so what's the deal with that stone-cold bitch? Do I have to be all renegade to get her favor in the end? I tried to ignore Jack as best I could, and spent a lot of time talking to Tali, b/c Tali is cool, and both of them were on Shepard's schlong like a Brit on biscuits.

so, what's her deal?

Just be nice to her and do her companion quest and afterwards and near the end she'll be all over you.

Yeah to romance any character just always pick the "nice" option (top right) every time and make sure to talk to them after every mission.

I don't usually do a romance though, they're so contrived and stupid. It's a game not a waifu simulator.

Wow, that looks so bad ass. I'm gonna have to replay the game as a vanguard when I finish this play through.

ME1 for the story, ME2 for the gameplay.

I'll go along with you on that. Although, When I started ME2 I was a little put off by the change in controls. One plus was that I didn't blow myself up by hitting R to reload !

BULLSHIT!

:(

or is Miranda's idea of "nice," to slap her around a bit? :hmm:

maybe I was too pushy? :D I think I went into her office on every break, and between conversations with other teammates just to see what was up.

Shepard: So, sweet tits, what's going on?
Miranda: Not now Shepard, I'm really busy. Maybe some other time?

^this exchange x150.

Did you fail to pick her over Jack? Or to make her talk to the sister?

Just downloaded today's new DLC... suspect it won't be that great though.

nah, I *think* I made her deal with her sister. don't remember how that ended, though. :hmm:

what do you mean pick her over Jack? I don't remember such a story element. jack was in my team maybe once, and only on the very last mission (used her to hold the shield up.)

Miranda was always on my team, mostly b/c she was badass with the SMG, but also b/c I liked watching her ass. :\

Once you do both Jack and Miranda's loyalty missions, they have a big catfight. If you don't have near-max Paragon/Renegade, you have to pick one over the other and lose one's loyalty.

If you never saw that, then you skipped a loyalty mission. If Jack successfully kept up the shield, you may have forgotten Miranda's. D'oh!

After you do both Miranda and Jack's loyalty missions, they'll get in a fight and you'll have to break them up. If you have enough Paragon or Renegade points you can stop the fight and keep both of them loyal. If not, you have you choose which one you want to side with, and you will lose loyalty from the one you side against (and you can't get it back).

If you didn't do Jack's loyalty mission, it won't come up.

oh yeah, I think it's possible that I kept them both loyal, but if there was a choice for me (I was high Paragon by then, I think), it would have obviously been Miranda. though tough to say, b/c Jack wanted that johnson at the end, unlike Miranda.

anyway, those things don't tend to bother me, I was just surprised how it turned out. The Shepard that I ported over had a relationship with Lara (after I was going for Ashley--haha, guess I don't understand these scripted computer womenz), and since Lara isn't playable, and I ended up rejecting Jack and Tali at the end, my Shepard, in the credits, was in his room pining over a photo of Lara. lol, lame!

You're not far enough into it yet then.

Well, you unintentionally made the best choice. Go play Lair of the Shadow Broker. ;)

I'm usually nice but will choose renegade options many times as well and still got the Miranda option.
I already had sex with Jack and you can still do Miranda as well. I didn't get any of the sex options in the first Mass Effect so this time around I'm doing two people in the game. Jack is the only one you can have sex with and it not count as a romance.

Mass Effect 1, although they both have their pros/cons.

What made ME1 win for me was the better story. ME2 didn't really have any story or plot advancement. Also instead of improving lackluster elements from ME1, they just completely stripped them out of the game.

ME2 did play better, though. Yet it was a lot more FPS than RPG...

I feel like ME2 really dropped the ball story-content wise though. Nothing really happened, and they could have spent time defining the main character of the game (you know, since he
died and came back to life
, you think that would cause some character development or soul searching, but nope, Shepard continues on like a robot).

I did all three in one game, and I mean actual romance options, not the
half assed sex where Jack won't talk to you anymore

Well, I obviously finished it....which is my main complaint. It is completely... incomplete, this game.

I saw credits, but was like...this story just started????

I just passed the game tonight and ugg you're right, it just ends and you're like wtf, didn't expect it to end, felt like I was going to get much more. Plus, I felt Mass Effect 2 was too easy compared to part 1. Part 1 actually gave me a challenge, 2 was too easy. The last boss fight was too damn easy too. 99% of part 2 was loyalty quests which while fun, added almost nothing to the main story. I'm still excited for 3 but the story in 2 really was lackluster and the battles were too easy and last battle was EXTREMELY easy. There wasn't much story at all, they really meant this game to be a stepping stone to part 3. That's not to say I didn't enjoy 2 as I still very much enjoyed it but ending, battles, and overall story just left you wanting more.
