In a setting where others would willingly lie to prevent the persons hiring? It's not even a question. Handing a virtual veto to anyone that wants to make a sexual misconduct claim is nothing short of insane. There absolutely has to be evidence. In this latest claim there is nothing, it's not as compelling as a rumor.
Let's look at it another way, let's make it personal. What if it was you who was on the chopping block? What if someone at the company Kwanzaa party that didn't like you said you touched them inappropriately? Would you agree the accuser has to be believed? Would you hang your head in shame and walk out the door a ruined man? We both know the answer to that, we both know that there are innumerable people that would make any claim necessary to keep a republican off the bench.
This is 100% political. No one actually gives a fuck about what an idiot kid did back in college, no one gives a fuck if someone wore black face at a halloween party, or said great person 50 years ago. This is simply another weapon in the political arsenal, a reason to fake some outrage and point a trembling finger at the vile evil doer.

The idea that a motive for making a false report is sufficient defense for any claim that lacks physical proof is extremely disturbing. In this case, it is easily thwarted. Multiple witnesses have stated for various accounts that they had heard them prior to Kavanaugh's nomination. Christine Blasey Ford brought it up in marriage therapy so there is a factual record.

If course the "if it happened, it's not relevant to today" line is even more ridiculous. That could be debated had he been forthright and atoned for past behavior. But at this time if anything close to what a number of other people described happened he has blatantly perjured himself. That is definitely relevant.

Actually I don't think they ever found proof that Clinton obstructed justice. And yes, the Senate decided that lying under oath about a topic not related to the investigation at hand, just trying to keep something that was nobodies business other than Bill, Hillary and Monica out of the public eye, did not constitute an impeachable offense.

First off- way to oversimplify the issue in order to let him off the hook for perceived non-questionable actions. It does not matter WHAT he lied about. The fact is that he was lying. Under oath, during the hearings to determine his eligibility and worthiness of the appointment to the SCOTUS.

Secondly- since your reading comprehension is apparently subpar...my statement you quoted and replied to was in regards to the confirmation hearings, not an impeachment investigation and hearings that will never happen during this administration and Congress as it sits now.
